With delicious gastronomy, world-class vineyards, ocean beaches and towns steeped in history, this area offers more than you could imagine, with endless things to see and do during your stay.Just a short drive from the villa itself, is a wine estate called Domaine de la Grave, owned by the same family as Villa Artigue since 1876. You can explore the wine and Cooperage Museum, eat some cheese and fresh bread in the picnic area, and partake in fun tasting activities and oenological discoveries.A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Saint-Émilion is just over 15-minutes drive from the villa and is a must visit during your stay. This quaint, mediaeval village hosts nearly a million visitors a year, with exceptional architecture, gastronomy and underground galleries to explore.One of the main drawers of this vibrant area has always been the wine. The renowned Médoc wine route is well worth exploring, starting in the vineyards of Bordeaux and travelling as far as Pointe de Grave.
