”The hotel shares a parking lot with a rather large liquor store and is across the street from a homeless shelter. I listened to a very loud altercation in the parking lot around 11:00pm. Otherwise, the room was OK. We were on the 3rd floor, in a room kind of in a corner. The door would get stuck on the wall as you entered, but that kind of worked out loading and unloading the luggage carrier. The room itself was large, but the lighting was terrible. The breakfast was fine, but a bit slim in...

”The staff and the manager at the front desk had excellent customer service. So polite. Thank you for our anniversary gift. That truly meant the world to us. A beautiful gesture.”

”The linens were not clean. Food and hair in both beds. I requested replacement and I would change them myself. When I received them and removed the dirty linens, the mattress cover and mattress was coated with urine and other bodily fluids. The floors were dirty. The room smelled like dirt and cigarettes. So sad this is a representation of Athens, GA”

”The Gillen House is a perfect destination if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway that is close to Athens and not too far away from Atlanta. The hosts, Edward and Cynzia, were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The food at breakfast was excellent. Especially the steaks and sides that we had for dinner on our arrival evening. The room was spotless and perfect. We definitely enjoyed our stay!”
