”The spacious accommodation included an air conditioner in the sitting room and fan in the bedroom. The bed was soft but cozy. The included breakfast was served with pride from Cheryl who is an excellent cook who truly cares about her guests. Fruit cup began the breakfast of pancakes, tasty individual egg casseroles, home spun honey, home made maple syrup, jam, and self served coffee. If staying in the area again Chamber would be our top choice.”

”What a nice surprise. My coworker and I had decided at the very last minute to stay in Cape Breton. There was very limited availability anywhere and, withour much research. we decided to stay here. This gem was a highlight of our whole trip. We really enjoyed the dinner experience. 7 courses of pure love! Lex and Hogle were most pleasant to talk to and are assets to this hotel. ”Paul was very welcoming and accommodating, made us sandwich plates since the restaurant was not technically open that day. They have pet friendly facilities which is great. The grounds and trails to the shore were fun as well. We had spent 2 days on the go and we were able to actually unwind. Our unit had no tv and we did not miss it at all. 9/10 would recommend!”

”The owner\hostess was rude and obsequious. She has a footwear issue…..and offered used slippers as an alternative. The physical plant was fine. This is not a hotel….it is her and her yapping dogs home. I don’t pay $300 for a lecture.”

”I would not recommend. It is very very dated. Our room with 2 double bed with one only having a mattress protector, no sheets. The only exit or entrance seemed to be at the far end of hallway . The oder in the hallway has a very musty smell. I've stayed at several motels with the West Western name attached to it and this particular one is in no way what I would expect from West Western ..”

”This is a new hotel right on the water Iin Sydney Harbor. The staff was uniformly helpful, friendly, and cheerful. The room was spotless and we had a beautiful view of the harbor. We were able to have our dog with us for a reasonable $35 fee, and he loved the treats, blanket, special bowls as well as the lovely boardwalk along the harbor for his walks. ”Location is great when taking the NL Ferry to Port Aux Basque. Breakfast was simple but worked for us. I was not pleased with the shower as it was difficult to work. The sheets were very thin and I recommend they be upgraded.”

”Overall a great hotel. I would stay there again. Two comments, I found the pool area and waters ide was not as clean as I would have liked. The other is the breakfast - the food quality and selection was great, but I was disappointed to see that all the serving ware and cutlery is disposable, single use plastic. I would like o see the hotel chain do better from a sustainability perspective.”

”Spacious & very clean room. Unfortunately the bathroom ventilation is poor resulting in the smoke detector being triggered when the bathroom door is opened after taking a shower. Breakfast costs extra. Parking costs extra. The breakfast ladies were amazing.”
