Finally I had to call the website and at last located someone who could help and so I could arrange checking in etc. However there was no information available in the house about either workings of the house itself (lights, locks etc) or local contacts and possible places to visit (which would have been nice). ”This was our 2nd stay in Villa Varkoula. It’s a simple but lovely villa, with pool and great views of hills. Very peaceful. A joy to watch the swallows/swifts dipping down to sip from the swimming pool, a few sightings of an eagle and cute bats in the evening. A car is essential, but the town of Lixouri and several lovely and not too busy beaches are all within a short drive. Perfect for a quiet getaway or as a base to explore the wonderful island of the Kephalonia.”

”Apartments were traditional basic Greek, as we expected. But we’re clean and perfectly adequate for what we wanted. The pool and loungers were wonderful - a real key attraction. Not too busy and easily got a longer even in the middle of August. At the pool bar, the food and service was great. Only minor comments are that the bar could be pricey - certainly not somewhere you would want to purchase from all day. But we knew this from other reviews. Also, it is up a big hill. But it is manageable...

”Our family had a great experience for 7 nights at Avithos resort. super close to the airport (9 minute), excellent location! Room has a fully furnished kitchen and a welcoming balcony! pool area is super well maintained and has enough chairs for all guests! Food is amazing and super tasty (until 9 pm only). ”We loved our stay at Dafnoudi. The staff were all really helpful and pleasant and the accommodation was clean and nicely decorated. The grounds are beautiful, with pomegranates, figs, limes planted around and jasmine and bougainvillea for scent. We could see the sun set over the sea every evening from our balcony. Our children loved the pool. Within a few minutes drive of Fiskardo and some stunning beaches. ”
