”Not sure what the negative reviews are about. We booked knowing it was in the city centre, so even if it had been noisy (which it wasn’t — even on a Saturday), we would’ve expected that. The location is ideal: central and convenient, exactly what we were after. The room was clean and just as shown in the photos — nothing more, nothing less. You know exactly what you're getting, and for us, it did the job perfectly.”

”The flat was absolutely brilliant, the area it’s in was brilliant for our stay, unloading the car was easy the rooms where bright and very clean and it had everything you could possible need for a short stay.The stairs going up to the flat are quite brutal ( I’ve got a bad knee ) but it was outweighed by the veranda over looking the estuary.Will definitely be staying again and cannot recommend enough Mr Barrett ”

”My friend, I & great nephew 13yrs enjoyed a very comfortable stay at this property. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated though the white furniture could do with a lick of paint. Having both a bath & a shower was great. Kitchen was well equipped , clean & a welcome pack was left for us. However the kitchen itself could do with being modernised . ”I’ve stayed here a few times and it is always good value for money and easy to use, the communication with the host is good and the different choice of rooms is good. Free parking is available overnight a few minutes walk away after 6pm. Place is always clean and quiet.”

”Laburnum Cottage is in an ideal location for exploring Bedale and all that North Yorkshire has to offer. Clean, well equipped, comfortable beds, lovely garden, and really just everything you need to enjoy a pleasant break. Communication with Terry, the host, is excellent, so no issues there. Second visit to the cottage and would recommend. We will definitely return.”
