The volcano Barú is the highest mountain in Panama (3477m). It is possible to take a cab to approx. 1700m and hike the rest (13km). It takes around 5 to 6 hours to go up. When the weather is good you can see the Pacific and the Carribean. Even if tour operaters tell something different: you don't need a guide! It's long and steep but not difficult. tip: start at midnight (with a good lamp) so you can watch the sunrise.
Mi Jardin is the place to kick back, enjoy a cup of coffee, and savor the delicious view of the mountains. The coffee in this region is top of the line, gourmet quality. Besides the coffee & the view (reason enough, I know), Mi Jardin has an extensive garden, a koi pond, and small suspension bridge, just begging to be explored. Relaxed Hostel with a beautiful views
Nice and relaxed athmosphere. Good customer service. Beds could be updated with curtains to give more comfort and the guest Kitchen needs more attencion and equipment should be updated. There is a reason why this place is voted for the best hostel in Panama on other web pages
