We booked the Myriad primarily for its advertised breakfast and outdoor pool—both of which fell far short of expectations.
Breakfast at the Switchboard café was disappointing. There were no hot sandwiches or protein options as advertised—just chips, scones, and dry oatmeal that may or may not be heated by staff. With no nearby early-morning restaurants, we had to walk five blocks to Starbucks to get something basic, which was frustrating during busy mornings.
The pool was another major letdown. It was crowded both days with local adults who had paid for day passes, making the space feel more like a public club than a hotel amenity. One group near the back hotel entrance was loud, intoxicated, smoking, and shouting profanities. It made the area feel unsafe and uncomfortable, especially for teens. There were no towels either day we went—by early afternoon they were gone, and staff didn’t restock them. The pool also didn’t appear to be cleaned, with visible hair and debris in the water.
Check-in was chaotic and very delayed. Room keys weren’t working, so no one could access their rooms without staff escorts. Communication between departments was poor, and the front desk seemed overwhelmed.
This hotel has potential, but the guest experience needs serious improvement before we’d return.
