Cute, cozy cabin but needs a deep clean!!

This cabin is very cozy and is in a nice, friendly neighborhood. The check-in process was great and the cabin is dog-friendly. However, the cabin was very dirty and needs some serious cleaning. I notified the property management company and the gentleman there apologized profusely. He also said he would email the owner, but I never heard anything back from them. We payed a big cleaning fee and I'm sure that every other renter before us did, too. However, it's obvious that this cabin has not been cleaned appropriately in quite a while. There were cobwebs and dust everywhere......mold/mildew and dust on the window blinds, filthy kitchen appliances, grease and dust built up on the exhaust hood over the stove, dirty toilets......I could go on and I have pictures that show these things. This cabin could be great, if only it was cleaned like it should be: a deep clean first, then proper cleaning after every rental.

If there were other options for lodging, we would have taken them the night of our arrival

We had to have the exterminator called the first night because the kitchen/ house was covered in roaches. Spent 15 hours cleaning the house before we could sit down or cook. There was something dead (or feces?) and "mummified" on the area rug downstairs. I wanted to roll it up, but the floor was stained with urine and other liquids . Animal hoar everywhere. "Library" features works by authors most would call purveyors in far-right propaganda. House is in desperate need of a deep cleaning and an update-stuck in the early 80s. The homeowner should consider a new cleaning service. No one wants to see chamber pots in a bedroom as decor. The guestbook has hundreds of happy visitors. If you're here for skiing, I can see why things are probably dismissed. If you're staying here for a family gathering, I'd be remiss. Property management company, however, was on point and professional and did as much as possible to try to salvage the experience. And carpeted bathrooms?! I walked in towels. I cannot tell you how grossed out I am by the thought of dozens and dozens of people over two decades missing the toilet.

Relaxing

The property was as advertised. It was very clean and readily met our expectations. All directions for TV’s, gas fireplace, etc were easy to follow. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Cozy and comfortable

We enjoyed our stay in the cabin. The bedrooms were large with ample space for luggage and gear. The downstairs was perfect for the kids - they loved having a space for themselves. The house could use a good dusting, but overall, was clean. The kitchen desperately needs a dish drainer and dish towels. We enjoyed the fire pit and the location to skiing and tubing could not be beat. Overall, we found the cabin comfortable and cozy.

It was ok

We traveled with teen and preteens and needed help with the wi-fi password. We called and left a message with the office manager. The property manager never called us back. We didn’t know we needed our own wood for the fire pit. The kids were also looking forward to playing the board games there. They were crammed in a box completely trashed. Glad we brought a few of our own.

Mini Vacation

The property was very comfortable and convenient to all the places we wanted to visit. We loved sitting out on the porch both in the front and the back. Over all it was clean but could use better dusting with the blinds and some of the floor vents had heavy dust accumulated. The driveway was a little challenging but we managed. Overall we were happy with the rental and would definitely consider doing it again in the future.

So Relaxing!

This was the perfect short getaway. We rented the cabin for my elderly mother who has never stayed in a cabin and she enjoyed the privacy and relaxation. We loved the fenced in area for our dog. Highly recommend and would def stay again! A++

Great Location

Loved the location, the backyard, trees, firepit, and porches. There was an odor downstairs and the cabin needed a good dusting. The upstairs sofas were old and the beds were uncomfortable. The towels were rough, the sheets were yellow, and there were only threr hangers and was told that was up to the owners so did not get any more hangers. Linens for the kitchen were promptly delivered when I requested them. Over-all the cabin is very nice only needs some TLC.

Family Getaway

This cabin was very nice! Our family needed a vacation and it definitely made it great. We could enjoy the peace and quiet as well as relaxing and enjoying the town. Definitely would come here again. The kids loved it so much they didn’t want to leave! :)

Rocky Top

This was our second stay at this cabin. Great location to many activities and unit has fenced in yard for our dogs. Love the outdoor area and v the decks! We ate all our meals outside on the decks! Great stay!

Quick trip to the mountains

We were in town for a short weekend and rented this cabin for 2 families to share. Overall, we had everything we needed. The kids had a place to crash and the parents had comfortable beds. We didn’t try the pull out couches since we read other reviews, but the air mattress worked just fine. The only thing to note is the cabiney smell, kind of like visiting an old house, but it wasn’t anything horrible. The kids loved going out to the little creek out back, looking at the plants, and finding perfect rocks outside.

Quick ski weekend

The property was perfectly located 15 min from Cataloochee ski area. All directions and check-in /out very clear. 3 bathrooms worked out great with 4 teenagers in the mix. Furniture is a little tired. Linens need upgrading and cleaning crew could be a little more thorough. The air mattress was a great find as one of the pullout sofas was not usable. Great outdoor space, wish we had more time there to enjoy it. We will stay here again.

Great location

The cabin exceeded our expectations! It was so warm and cozy. We loved running the fireplace inside and listening to the creek from the back porch. The fenced-in yard was perfect for our small dog. We would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area!

Good stay

Good size cabin it has everything to keep you busy and entertain, good location close to everything the only thing was the cleaning details porches were a little unattended ceiling fans very dusty mattresses very old and quilts need to be replaced. Other than that everything was good
