Summer stays are booked in 1-week blocks (Friday check-in and Friday check-out) — guests are welcome to reserve multiple weeks for a longer getaway.
LOCATION
We are located on a half-acre lot just a two-minute walk to town. This four-season beachfront retreat features city water/sewer, central air conditioning, gas heating, and a fireplace. The property includes a six-person hot tub and a large deck with dining area. There is private access to Crowe River, which is 200’ wide at the property and expands to 800’ wide (35’ deep) just a 5 min kayak paddle away. The gradual slope on the shoreline makes for easy water access for little ones. A 16-foot canoe, a stand up paddleboard, two adult kayaks and one child kayak are available for guest use. Life jackets from toddler to adult are provided. The dock will be put out by the third weekend of June and remain available until late September (dates are weather and water levels permitting). The Beach washes away in the spring with the rising water levels and will be added back by the third weekend of June. We are just 2 hours north of Toronto, 2.5 hours west of Ottawa and 3 hours northeast from Niagara.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
Sleeps up to 8 guests, with a maximum of 6 adults for comfort and suitability.
• Bedroom 1: Queen bed, small futon, 50" Smart TV, full size dresser, closet, full-length mirror, USB bedside lamps, small desk, 2 robes, cozy rugs
• Bedroom 2: Queen Bed, 45" Smart TV, full-size dresser, lamps, chair, full-length mirror and two robes. Linens included. The closet has a foldable crib (that can roll to any space) with mattress and crib linens.
• Bedroom 3: Twin bunk beds, toddler bed, two kid sized dressers, and a lamp.
• Rec room: Modular pit couch sleeps 2 adults or 4 children
We understand the importance of a good night's sleep, so we've provided a mix of down, cooling, and polyester pillows of different firmness throughout the beds to accommodate various preferences and needs. We've made sure that each bedroom offers a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for a restful night's sleep. All linens are included. In the early spring, we have sub pump that cycles on and off (slightly louder than furnace) - please bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
HOT TUB
Six-person hot tub with a covered pergola and large deck for a relaxing experience year-round.
OUTDOOR AMENITIES
The half-acre property offers access to 16 km of the swimmable Crowe River. There is a small beachfront and the water is crystal clear, making it easy to see the bottom (and the fish!). Outdoor features include a dock (available June–September, water level permitting), beach (washes away in the spring with the rising water levels and will be added back by the third weekend of June), large dining table, deck seating, games, fire pit, 16-ft canoe, two kayaks, one child kayak, life jackets (toddler to adult), and space to set up a tent for a fun outdoor camping experience. The water entry is sandy/muddy and gradual, ideal for children. The waterfront may have some sticks and zebra mussels so bring some water shoes if it's something that might bother you. Outdoor amenities may be stored away from October to April. We do not provide outdoor water towels but we do provide indoor shower/bath towels and four robes.
The garage has a pool table, dart board, life jackets, basketball shooter, and outdoor games (the garage is not temperature controlled).
KITCHEN & DINING
Whether you're in the mood for a home-cooked meal or just need to store some snacks, you'll have everything you need at your fingertips. The fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, stove, oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, crock pot, countertop ice maker, blender, pantry, cookware, pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, wine glasses, bottle openers, basic spices, cooking oil and much more. The dining table seats seven, with a high chair and booster seat available.
COFFEE BAR & LOUNGE
Start your day in our cozy coffee bar/lounge, the perfect spot to unwind with your morning coffee or tea. The Keurig machine offers both pods and ground coffee. We provide a selection of pods, ground coffee, tea bags, sugar, and mugs for your convenience. Enjoy your drink while relaxing in the small lounge area for two, where you can browse through a collection of unique books and tourist brochures for a peaceful escape.
BATHROOM
Full bathroom with tub/shower combo, rain showerhead, vanity storage, indoor towels, toiletries, toilet paper, face cloths, shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, straightener, and blow-dryer. We provide indoor shower/bath towels and four robes.
REC ROOM
50" Smart TV with surround sound, cozy gas fireplace, vintage and new board games, foosball table, and a modular pit couch with seating for eight.
SUNROOM
Step into our stunning sunroom and take in the breathtaking water views from the wall-to-wall window sliding doors. You can relax in the swinging egg chair, or stretch out on the couch while staying warm by the electric fireplace on chilly days and nights. During the summer turn on the ceiling fan and open the doors to make it a beautiful covered patio with a breeze.
LAUNDRY
Our Laundry is fully equipped with a washer, dryer, and laundry detergent, ensuring that you can pack light and still have you have everything you need to feel right at home. It is also great for drying bathing suits quickly!
FAMILY-FRIENDLY FEATURES
Families with children are welcome, and we've got you covered with a crib, toddler bed, plastic plates, cups, utensils, highchair, booster seat, baby bath, potty, toddler books, and even a few toys and puzzles to keep them entertained during their stay.
CHECK-IN/OUT
We have self-check in/out using a smart lock with your own unique code. This allows flexibility in your arrival time after PCHECKIN}. Please note the smart code provided is only active from the check in time of PCHECKIN} until the check out time of 11 AM. Early check in or late check out can be requested but it is not guaranteed – a fee may apply.
EV CHARGING
We have a level 2 Electric car charger -Tesla needs an adapter. Charge Point J1772 connector 7.5 kw.
WATER ACCESS
The property has private access to 16 km of Crowe River but does not have direct access to Crowe Lake. A boat launch for Crowe Lake is a two-minute drive away. Another boat launch for Crowe River access is at the end of the street.
PETS
We have a no pet policy. We appreciate that there are many great pets, but we do not make exceptions. Family of the owner have severe allergies. The property is also not suited to pets. Outside, we have no fence and large body of water. We even have guests who have issues with pet dander and allergies that book with us because we are a pet free property.
SECURITY & PROPERTY DETAILS
We have one security Camera located outside on the garage pointing to the driveway, and street. The far left side of back deck and sunroom are also visible. The house and outdoor space is private and yours to enjoy. One small hall closet and the shed is locked and not for guest use.
BOOKING/HOUSE RULES
Security Deposit Hold
After booking, you will be directed to a link that uses a 3rd-party Airbnb-approved property management software. Here a credit card will need to be provided for the $500 security deposit (hold only). The hold will be placed on the credit card 2 days before check-in. The hold will be released within 5 business days if there are no major issues such as theft, damage, rule violations, or excessive cleaning requirements. THE SECURITY DEPOSIT MUST BE SUCCESSFULLY HELD BY CHECK-IN TIME, OR THE DOOR CODE WILL NOT BE PROVIDED AND NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. BY MAKING A RESERVATION, YOU AGREE TO THIS REQUIREMENT.
Rental Agreement
The link will also take you to a rental agreement using the same the 3rd-party Airbnb-approved property management software. The agreement must be signed within 48 hours of booking to complete the reservation. During this process, you will be asked to input the names of all adult guests and provide photo ID of the person making the booking.
House Rules
• No parties.
• No excessive noise/music after 11 PM. We have neighbors.
• No pets, no exceptions.
• Life jackets are mandatory on the water when leaving our waterfront.
• Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times as we are located on a river, and the yard is not fenced.
• Smoking is only permitted at the outdoor fire pit. Do not move the fire pit.
• Obey all fire bans issued by the host (no refunds/discounts for fire bans).
• Additional guests above 8 (6 adults) must be discussed and approved in advance.
• At least one guest must be 21 or older for the duration of your stay.
• You must take your garbage/recycling with you upon departure. $100 charge if garbage is left. Unreasonable amounts of garbage left may result in a higher charge.
• Follow the hot tub rules as outlined in the agreement and posted at the hot tub. Do go directly from the river/sandy beach into the hot tub without rinsing first.
