”Appreciated the quiet surroundings, the fire and the provision of the pre-cut logs and pine cones, the comfortable beds, the quality of the crockery, cutlery and utensils. The weather on the Saturday was hot, dry with not a cloud in sight so we fished from the wharf, which was only a few minutes away, and were rewarded with large trevally - caught on squid bait. Aotea beach was worth the 20 minute drive, fished for a while from the beach until it clouded over, returned to the bach just as it...

”We stayed here with our 2 kiddos ages 10 & 12. It was clean and cute and the kids were totally blown away by the experience of staying in a hobbit house! It definitely has a motel vibe, and the kitchenette is small, but there were some decorating touches that really added to the hobbit feel. The owners provided space heaters that were really nice to have, but the bunk room definitely developed a musty smell that we couldn’t get rid of. The property is really pretty to walk around and super close...

”This was a great place to chill out, with a wonderful outlook over Aotea Harbour and very quiet at this time of year (end April). Neat and clean with very a well equipped kitchen. It was comfortable for our stay but expect it could get very hot in summer, and be cold in winter (only one small panel heater for a large space).”

”Great spot, very local to all we wanted to do. Homemade bread, bacon & eggs were a enjoyable extra. Only problem was no lighting in the garage and the gas bottle for the bbq was empty, meaning a quick change of dinner plans.”
