”Our stay at the hotel was fabulous, we loved everything about the hotel, the location, the breakfast, the attention to detail, the sauna in the room, the view at night and day from our room… everything was perfect. We spent 2 nights and loved it.”

”Thymus Residence is just such a different place to stay with breakfast taken just next door to our accommodation in a former medieval church. So many interesting features in the immediate area. We chose a cava suite at Thymus for 3 nights. Simply had to have one of the former cave rooms if you’re going to Matera! Such a different experience to staying in a regular room. But while still visibly a cave architecturally, it had every convenience to a high standard. Absolutely amazing.”

”Had excellent experience here. The EasyPark app was nice for parking in front of the room. There is a grocery store is across the street and the walking zone begins across the street s well. Breakfast was served in our spacious room. Many restaurants and cafes to choose from and many paths from to explore. Highly recommended!”

”A unique place to stay. Its more of an experience than a hotel. The room is amazing. Located close , right in the middle of, the historic partof town. The staff was super nice, welcoming and very helpful with recommendations. ”

”I loved my stay at La Gravina. it's owner is extremely welcoming and offers us suggestions in the region. We were alone during our stay, so the experience was more personalized. There are horses and also their adorable dog Diana and their cat who just ask to be cuddled. The children loved Diana and still talk about her! The owners are great, and the breakfast is simple and delicious. The Masseria is well positioned, set back from the town without being far away. THE ONLY negative point is...

”Matera is not the easiest place to get to in first place. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to change plans and arrived by coach bus instead of rental car. The hotel contacted us a couple days before our check in and once they learned about our change if plans, they helpfully pointed out to us that our bus station is actually quite a bit of distance from the hotel. They then booked a taxi for us that waited at the bus station and took us straight into the restricted area inside the old...
