The host sent instructions just a few minutes before check-in time for an apartment that was already taken. I unlocked the door using the provided code and there was someone sitting in the living room that had booked through another platform. After messaging the host, he kept sending AI-generated messages with the wrong instructions. He only sent the right instructions after Vrbo contacted him directly an hour and a half later. The host never apologized or tried to make it up to us. To think how dangerous the situation could have been if we had barged in on the wrong people. The apartment was dirty: moldy food in the cabinets, dirt on the floors, pink bacterial film in the showers, dirty toilets, black sumdges on the walls, stained towels, and more. The apartment had the noisiest washer and dryer I've ever heard. To top it all off, the apartment is near a club that blasted music all night.I'll also add that Vrbo customer service was basically useless. We got an agent that was clearly AI, but eerily kept saying it was human. Never again.
