”We have been coming to Schroon Lake every year for over 40 years. This was our first stay at the Maple Leaf Motel. We only stayed one night, but the accommodations were perfect for our stay. ”We stayed at Friends Lake Inn hoping for a relaxing getaway, but this visit was very disappointing. Upon arrival, the hotel was completely empty — no staff at the front desk, no note or key left for us, and no response to calls or texts. After waiting, we had no choice but to find and check ourselves into an unoccupied room.
Additionally, none of the usual amenities were available: the restaurant and bar were not operating. The next morning, a staff member admitted they had “forgotten” to leave...

”Beautiful warm and welcoming cabins right on the lake. Also a fantastic place to stay in winter. The owners are extremely helpful and responsive, even in the "off season" for the area. Wonderful retreat for writers, base for snowshoers or for anyone who loves the quiet of winter. ”
