”This is a beautiful property with newly renovated rooms. The micro rooms are perfect for a solo traveler. The front desk staff were fine but not particularly friendly. My biggest complaint is the cafe is closed on Wednesday and Thursday, which really doesnt make sense as a traveler who will gladly pay for an iced latte or 2 every morning. The employee that worked the cafe when it was open, also wasn't traines properly in making espresso drinks but it was still better than having to ice hot...
”The Cabot Lodge is a quaint, adorable, wonderful place to stay! The room itself is tiny but the bathroom is spacious. The room has everything you need, including a sound machine! There are complimentary snacks and coffee, and the bed is very comfortable. The town itself is historic and has some very cool shops. Would absolutely stay here again!”
”I absolutely loved my stay! My dream place in Salem! The kindness of the staff, the cleanliness, the location, the price—everything is perfect! I have never slept so well in a bed as the one I had there. Plus, they offer cookies and scones starting at 4 p.m., and delightful morning treats at 9 a.m.! There’s limited on-site parking available, as well as another lot not far away. I’ve found my place to stay in Salem—50/5 stars! I can’t wait to come back, thank you for everything!”
”Two things bothered me - because of the barn style door to the bathroom, your roommate can See and Hear you going to the bathroom. Also the doors to the rooms are tremendously heavy, which means they slam every time someone goes in or out of their room. Other than that, the hotel was great. ”
”This was a very cute, nautical, central located hotel. We were able to walk to everything. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were so nice and helpful. Would definitely stay with them again.”
”We loved staying in a house built in the 1600s! It was like getting to sleep in a museum rather than a hotel.
Also - the Continental Breakfast was more than we expected! Beyond a few kinds of breakfast bread and a toaster, there was also whipped cream cheese, hard-boiled eggs, and a couple types of fresh fruit. We were very pleased.
There were only a couple drawbacks (which would NOT keep me from recommending the experience):

”I absolutely loved it here! Nice, clean room in a beautiful building and the location could not be any better. The only thing to note is that the parking was a bit far away and required us to get a parking pass from the front desk. Not a big deal for us but worth noting!”

”Run by the kindest people (and friendliest cats!) in all of Salem, and could not possibly be more centrally located! You can walk everywhere from here, and you have a front row seat to any events in the square - it's literally right across the street. Parking in Salem is at a premium, and we are driving a crew cab truck to make it even worse, but Matt went WELL above and beyond to make sure we got a great spot. Do note - it's a lovely old house, but like most old houses, it does have steps, ...
