'The Birdhouse' was such a cozy spot to just unplug and get away from it all. Woodburning fireplace was a huge hit. At first the lack of internet or a tv (we brought some video games) was alarming, but we soon embraced it as a chance to play some board games together, read some books and kick up our feet.
The only downside was that flies were continually getting inside from somewhere (I believe a window was open a crack); and the kitchen was lacking some essential items- firestarter (for fireplace), cheese grater, etc. Also worth noting the semi- open sleeping situation; very cozy layout for a Family getaway; but maybe not ideal for those seeking privacy.
I would happily come back to the Birdhouse to disconnect. My daughter was elated when a porcupine came and visited our car in the morning, we saw deer on the way in and heard a moose and many coyotes during our stay. Great stargazing. Bring a bluetooth speaker amd a downloaded cozy jazz playlist, a couple bottles of wine and you'll have a cozy, fun stay!
