Chalet't – Moffat

”Liked the house itself with the public rooms. We booked a deluxe room but it was okay. No outlook from window, just looked at a wall. Although the staff were friendly, the system they followed was not up to par. On check in we were not advised where anything was ie restaurant or bar. It was later when we spoke to another member we were shown where things were. Breakfast, the food was lovely but you had to go and get your own milk for your tea or coffee, sauce etc had to tell the staff one day...

”After a long journey we were so pleased to stay at this B&B, we received a warm welcome, the building is beautiful with lovely views and our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was continental only but very well thought out and the communal areas are a special bonus. Would stay here again without a doubt. Thank you.”

”A unique Scottish hotel that is in the process of being renovated. Food was good and staff friendly, though reception appeared to be unstaffed. My room was one of the older ones so the renovation will be a big benefit but overall the hotel was great value and much better than an anonymous generic chain hotel.”

”The location is excellent, just a 10 minute walk to the city centre. The room wAs not modern but was very comfortable, spacious and functional. Breakfast was cooked to order with self service drinks, fruit and cereals available. Easy parking. Highly recommended.”

”Stayed one night when attending a wedding in the castle. Can only recommend on my visit. Looked after by Cathy from arrival until breakfast next morning. Had dinner at Crown hotel a few mins from hotel and 10% discount on food was applied for hotel guests. Mind flash the key fob to let them know before the bill is on table. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast was served and tea/ coffee top ups were no trouble if asked for. Recommend the Kirkstyle if staying in the area.”
