”Alan's house was a wonderful place to base our family (w/ 2 kids, 6 and 9) for visiting Santa Elena and Monteverde; it is a very charming spot with breath-taking views, my boys loved having breakfast and spotting rainbows our first morning. The house was spotless and the kitchen very well-equipped (with cookware and cutlery in excellent condition). Alan and his wife were extremely gracious hosts, always easy to contact and eager to help. We hope to come back soon!”

”To stay here a car is the best way to go—it’s located on a lovely property a bit outside of Santa Elena proper—not walkable to the Cloud Forest and other things we wanted to do, although only a short drive to coffee tours and a nighttime wildlife tour. The house is beautiful in a very contemporary Latin American style. Nice pool, but it was a bit rainy when we were there and sun breaks did not correspond well with when we wanted a dip—but we can’t blame the hostess for that ”

”This was the perfect place to stay for our night in Monteverde with my family! We felt like we were part of the beautiful nature surrounding us. The views were amazing! The place was clean and beautifully decorated. We got to use the hot tub, which was relaxing. The dome had enough space for my husband and I along with our 2 teenage boys. Andy and Mary had pancake mix there to enjoy, but we didn't have enough time to make any, but it was a nice touch. The place had everything we needed....

”Absolutely Amazing!!! The best VRBO and welcoming host. The home and property were immaculately clean and gorgeous. The home is spacious and very private with a spectacular view, very comfortable beds and thoughtful amenities. Our stay here was the highlight of our trip and we would love to visit again. My recommendation would be to plan time to enjoy the beauty of this property, there was so much to do in town nearby (that we did and visited) but my family could have easily spent more time at...

”This property was such an experience. It’s not just any day you stay in a yurt! This one was classy, and very tastefully done! Tile floors, gorgeous style, even has a hot tub!! It’s a little bit of a rough drive down the mountain, but that is the way of Costa Rica! Laura was very gracious and kind. She even brought us a gift of local honey as we checked out:)”

”This land was so beautifully designed and maintained. We were looking for a spot off the beaten tourist hub where we could find quiet, reflection and be in deeper intimacy with the aninate world. It took a bit of effort to locate but we arrived just at sunset. Completely in awe with the bird life that visited (even the outspoken morning rooster :). And the visit to the river was welcomed. It does require a drive to and from, but if you welcome some time on the veranda watching the birds, you...

”Wonderful! Highly recommended - amazing view from the porch, and we saw toucans, bellbirds, capuchin monkey, agouti, coati, heard howler monkeys and manakins-- all while enjoying coffee of the porch. Feels like you're in the middle of the cloud forest but a quick drive or lovely walk to Santa Elena or Monteverde. We enjoyed the trails and the optional al fresco breakfast. Daniela is the best host. Highly recommended! ”
