  • The Cottage dates back to the 1860s and was originally used as servant’s quarters before the Civil War. In 2020 the cabin was renovated, preserving the wood beams in the ceiling and walls. This unique Texas cottage rental offers a cozy and romantic atmosphere with a large jetted tub and, in true southern Bed and Breakfast style, includes complimentary full breakfast at the Main House, a Texas Historic Landmark.
    The cottage features one bedroom, one bathroom, a small parlor, and a kitchenette. Our Texas cottage rental is also pet-friendly!

Great time at a place we stayed at previously. Eric was awesome, wish we could have made breakfast!

Our hosts, Eric and Connie, were above and beyond fantastic. They went far out of their way to make sure our stay was wonderful! The cabin itself was comfortable, charming, quiet, and in a great location. Breakfast being brought the next morning was icing on the cake! My husband and I (+our two dogs) adored our time away.

We rented The Cottage for two nights. The owners are friendly and everything was perfectly clean. They even had freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and bottled water waiting for us. My issue is mostly that I selected this location because of the whirlpool tub. The listing hadn’t been updated since the tub was replaced with a shower. I wouldn’t have been willing to pay more for that rental if I hadn’t thought I could soak my sore muscles in a tub after a long day. Also, the checkout instructions aren’t clearly written anywhere we could find. It was only after we left that I saw them on Expedia. It’s a good location. DoorDash is available and there are restaurants nearby. We were there for the Renaissance festival. Breakfast is available on weekends but we skipped that. Near the foot of the bed, between the bed and the door, there are some nail heads that will snag your socks. It’s a historic building so that wasn’t a shocker. There are also a lot of Christian themed items. That’s normally okay with me but I thought it was a little over the top. Then I realized that it’s another part of their business. It’s my understanding they have a sort of marriage reboot retreat for Christians. Truthfully, if I’d known that I wouldn’t have rented there, but other people may love it.

This was by far and away the best host I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They were accommodating and friendly the entire time and checked in on us to make sure our stay was going well. The cottage is an amazing piece of history that is both welcoming and inspiring. We want to try the greenhouse as well on our next staycation.

Great

This place was great. So cute while still maintaining some historical aspects. Such a cute cozy old timey cottage with modern day comforts. Its very quiet and peaceful. Eric and Connie are great hosts. We had a tiny incident at 9:30pm and Eric answered the text very quickly. The breakfast in the morning was excellent. They are so accommodating and friendly. We would definitely go back.

Historical Bed and Breakfast

When you get to the bed and breakfast you are greeted by the nicest gentleman Eric. Very accommodating and he will give you a historical tour of the property. The main house is simply beautiful with original fixtures and antique furnishings. Then he will show you to the cottage straight out of the late 1800’s with some added modern day conveniences. A front porch for relaxing. The next morning breakfast, it was absolutely delicious. Fresh fruit, biscuits eggs sausage coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice.
