Oyster Shack by the Bay / 4 minutes to Morehead City Waterfront/Big Rock Landing

This immaculate 2 bedroom, 1 & ½ bath cottage, including an enclosed double car garage, is located within minutes of downtown Morehead City’s waterfront and all the fun activities and restaurants it has to offer. The cottage can house 4 people comfortably, and I just recently replaced the couch with a sleeper sofa that can accommodate 2 additional guests. It is in a transitional neighborhood and within walking distance of the Calico Creek Boardwalk/Bird Sanctuary and Morehead City Waterfront where the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament and NC Seafood Festival are held each year. Many other water accesses are close by, including the Intracoastal Waterway and sandy beaches overlooking it. Historic Beaufort is 9 minutes away by car.

The cottage is equipped with a full kitchen, high speed internet, and 3 smart TVs. There is also a gas grill and all kinds of equipment to enjoy the beach or try your hand at catching fish or crabs. Bring your boat as there is parking space for 3 cars and a boat with trailer.
Well behaved and well-groomed pets are welcome for an extra fee. If you would like to let them outside for a while unleashed, the enclosed garage has a doggie door that leads into a small fenced-in area outside. There is also an off-leash dog park at the Rotary Park Dog Park a few miles away from the cottage.

This property has it all. It has smart tvs, games and equipment in the garage, and a washer and dryer. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom and kitchen were full of anything you could need for your stay. The view of the water was amazing and the home is located only blocks from local shopping and dining. My only improvement would be to specify to guests where to park. I was a bit confused but there is parking behind the garage by the trash cans. I wasn't sure but the neighbors were kind and let me know where to park when I arrived. The host welcomed us with a nice message and snacks left on the kitchen counter. It is a great place for families to stay just be aware there are steps up to the front door and it has two stories so there are stairs inside as well. I would definitely stay again.

Let me say that the property is not as described. It was clean but the steps going into it were shaky and unsafe. In front there is a vacant lot owned by neighbor. With junk cars and discarded furniture and mopeds. Area is very run down the pictures do not show the houses that surround you. The yard is not fenced in only has a dog kennel. Manager has added fees to listing after check out accusing us of damage. Not true. I felt uncomfortable leaving keys under a front door mat upon check out. Neighbors drank beer and left cans on steps while we were gone. Neighbors talked loudly at night outside of bedroom window. I’ve used VRBO for years and never had an experience like this. Also never had one bad review. Unit was pet friendly yet she was upset we brought 2 small dogs. She accused us of having a third dog. Not true. She said she had people to witness this. Which is lies. Please do not rent from her. Read the 4 star review left besides mine. It’s exactly what she did to me. No where to access the water either. Park is sketchy and unsafe. There is a vacant alley that runs directly beside house to the street. You have no yard of your own. The area in the picture is the neighbors and looks absolutely nothing like the rental ad. I feel cheated and duped. I was going to chalk it up as a loss until she made up lies to extort me for more money.

What a hospitable host! The lights were left on for our after dark arrival. There were a variety of snacks and beverages available for nourishments as well as a collection of toiletries should we have forgotten anything. So incredibly thoughtful and oh BTW - the house was also super cute and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will likely be back again.

Pamela was an amazing host! She truly has thought of everything! From a well stocked kitchen and snacks already waiting for us, toys for the kids and pups, anything you would need for a beach outing, and more! We could have packed only our clothes and I think we would have still been covered! There was a mixup on arrival and we couldnt find the keys but she quickly remedied that! Our pup escaped his kennel and caused some mischief but she was soooo understanding! The neighbors were so kind as well, offering our little one some candy on halloween. We will absolutely be staying with her again soon!

This is an excellent property for your stay in Morehead City. The owner has everything you could possibly need or want stocked at the property. The pictures in the owner's listing are accurate. Everything shown is really there, plus more. The kitchen is fully stocked as is the garage. From towels to trash bags the owner assures you have more supplies than you could need. Having the washer and dryer is a plus for any beach trip. Property is well maintained and beautifully decorated. Communication with the owner was clear and quick. The location is short drive to the Big Rock Landing or the Atlantic Beach Causeway. Overall great week at the property.

We absolutely loved this place. My husband and I got away for the weekend for our anniversary. This place has everything you could think of. The kichen was fully stocked which was my favorite part because we both love cooking. It was the most homey feeling away from home. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was perfect too. I cant express how much we loved this place. We will definitely be returning.

This is our third stay here. We LOVE it. The home has everything you could need or want. The kitchen has extra appliances, spices, etc. The host also provides extras like a case of water, snacks, lots of extra bathroom amenities if you've forgotten anything, etc . We bring our dogs and are always delighted to find dog beds and toys ready for us. The garage is full of beach toys if you need anything. We also enjoy fishing at the public dock- a 2 minute walk away. We are always the only people there which is nice.

Had a great time & the rental was very nice.only a couple of problems....came back Thurs after being gone for the day & found deck canopy pedestal base leaned over deck railing & pole was bent.It was stormy before we got back so probably a gust of wind.So I retracted shade assembly & put in a safe spot.Also front door latch kept coming off because set screw on latch needs tightened.The entire place is so beautifully decorated and accented, and so fully stocked! We can tell you put a lot of thought into making it truly a home away from home. It's like it's your personal home and that you just let us stay while your gone! I don't know of ANYTHING that is missing. I''m sure it's not easy having strangers come and go next door, we've stayed at other places where the neighbors weren't friendly at all, but the neighbors here were so friendly, they spoke and waved every time we saw each other! They made us feel welcome

Pamela was great in communication. She left a welcome Basket with some bottled coca-cola and some chips which I greatly appreciated. It was so nice. The place was really clean. As well as dog friendly which I appreciated. Will definitely be in contact to stay in the future.

This was our first time using VRBO and staying somewhere that wasn’t a hotel, and I cannot say enough good things about this place! The owner has thought of EVERYTHING you could possibly need for your stay. All bathrooms were completely stocked, the kitchen has everything you need. This house is pet friendly (thank goodness) I was having a hard time finding a place that allowed dogs larger than 50 lbs, but Pamela’s house was so accommodating to my boy. There’s 4 dog beds throughout the house with dog toys on them. Along with dog treats, food and extra food and water bowls as well. We will absolutely be staying here every year from now on when we go back home to visit. If you’re on the fence about this place, just book it! You won’t regret it!

This house is incredible! The host has stocked the house so well. Anything you need, she has already thought of it and placed it somewhere. The house felt like "home." She is a very responsive host and the home was very clean. We saw Dolphins from the balcony each morning. She even has binoculars to view them! Highly recommended this place. It is about a 10 minute drive from Atlantic Beach (which is beautiful more touristy and huge waves) and a 5 min drive from Radio Beach (inlet, no waves). Perfect location for some peace and quiet.

Property was great and was perfect for what we needed it for. Myself and a buddy were in town diving with Olympus Dive Center, and this accomodated our needs perfectly. The house was super clean, and super comfortable. There was a hose where we could rinse off our gear, and a garage where we could hang stuff to dry. Honestly I could not have asked for anything better. The neighborhood is in transition, but I have had zero issues the multiple times I have stayed on this side of the tracks. I hope this place is available again next time I am in town as I would definitly stay here again.

Pamela was so easy to chat with. We just got home from a great time at the oyster shack. The house has everything you need. We had a 3 day baseball tournament and the location to the field was perfect as well as the home run derby. Tower 7 was our favorite restaurant and all the kids loved sunset slushy. We cooked out on the grill 3 times and we even used the ball field down the street for some hitting practice. Thanks again Pamela for a great stay.
