”We booked for 5 nights so that we could explore the area, having never visited north east England previously. The location suited our purpose very well.
The breakfasts were good and the staff made sure that all dishes were kept well filled; my one suggestion for meal improvement concerns the fixed all day menu. Whilst I understand the convenience (for the hotel) of having a fixed unchanging menu (except for the specials which were not available every evening) it does not suit guest who stay...

”Room perfect for the purpose of a family of 4 getting a good nights sleep before an early flight.
Customer service and restaurant staff not of the same quality as I’ve experienced in other Hilton hotels.
Restaurant service was terribly slow, staff all inefficient, inexperienced and a lazy manager. When I asked for the service charge to be removed at no point did she ask why…. Looked like an unhappy camp although the number of staff was plentiful for the customers in the restaurant.”

”The staff were excellent and couldn’t be more helpful. The lobby and bar areas were nice. We had to change rooms as our first room wasn’t clean. We were moved to a better room only to find scaffolding being put up outside our room on the first day.
We went out for the day and when we came back there were workmen on the scaffolding. We decided to pack up and go home a day earlier than planned. We only stayed one night when we had paid for two. We won’t be going back to this hotel. It needs to...
