Welcome to Whalebone Ocean Cottages 4 Bedroom Oceanside Cottage!

Located in south Nags Head at milepost 16.5, this contemporary 4-bedroom oceanside cottage is sure to please; with a King En Suite, a Queen En Suite, Queen Bedroom, and a Bedroom with a Twin over Twin Bunk Bed with Trundle and accommodations for up to 10 guests. The oceanside cottage is also equipped with a fully stocked kitchen for cooking when you aren't going to the many nearby restaurants.

All of the cottages feature the KEES standard amenity package including soap amenity dispensers, K-Cup coffee makers, high quality linens and bath towels and free Wi-Fi access. Take advantage of the KEES Flex-Stay System where there is no check in day restrictions or mandatory 7-night minimums. Whether you want to take a dip in the custom concrete pool, grill out with family and friends or step out onto the beach, Whalebone Cottage Court offers it all!

This property has 2 parking spots for guests.

**Private outdoor community pools and/or waterpark play areas are available, weather permitting, beginning on Memorial Day and close after Labor Day. Please know that pool operating dates are subject to change at any point, for any reason.**

Check-In begins at 4pm. Your keyless entry code will begin granting access at this time.

First Stay at The Outer Banks

This is our first time staying at The Outer Banks. Loved the cottage. It was big enough for all 7 of us Loved the pool for the kids. They had a great time in the pool! It was close to the beach. Just annn by overall good experience. The only thing missing was a washer and dryer. We had a great time !😊

Great location!

If you’re looking for proximity to beach and a central location, this is a great option. We had 4 adults and 2 teens and this was a perfect home base. The only negative is that there is no privacy whatsoever - the units are on top of each other which makes for awkward morning coffees on the deck. In addition the pool is reminiscent of the pool from the movie Vacation - needs major updates and more chairs. Otherwise, convenient and easy stay! Be sure to bring your own beach chairs!

Keep looking..

Pool was closed our entire stay. This was the reason we chose this property. Reached out to management company, Kees, they said they would reach out to maintenance for update. They never followed through. I asked again 2 days later, no update. Check in information was not provided until 40 minutes after my check in time, and I had to reach out to Kees. Took me 40 minutes to reach anyone. Tried tx line, email, and phone. The grill is old and rusty, should be replaced. Tv didn’t work in upstairs bedroom. Location was great for beach access, pier, playground. House was nice, fully stocked kitchen. Nice for family meals. I prefer individually owned properties, because people care more than companies.

Great location and layout

The house was in a great location and the layout of the house was perfect for our group of 6. The housewares(pots, pans, storage bowls, etc) need to be replenished to improve the experience. A few housekeeping issues- towel from last renter found behind the door and one bed was not made up. No soap but they came out and replenished soap.

good location

Close to the beach. Plenty of room. Unfolded sofa bed and sand poured out. Clearly wasn't checked or cleaned despite the required cleaning fee. No dishwasher detergent, no condiments for cooking, no family/board games, one trash bag and one roll of paper towels for the entire house for the week. You will need to bring everything with you or buy it all there which was expensive. Seemed to us that some of those things could have been provided given the price of the rental.

Perfect spot!

Whalebone cottages are a perfect spot for a family or potentially two small families. We had access to a nice-sized pool and the beach was about a minute from our door! There are several great restaurants within a mile or two from here, and a good handful of sights to see within a 15-20 minute drive.

Beautiful Location at the OBX

First of all, the property is pretty much like it looks like online. We were impressed with the decor, amenities and roominess of our cottage. It's location directly on the beach with a pool was awesome. We've stayed in other locations where you have to cross a busy road to get to the beach and this was much nicer. This cottage has everything you need to make a meal without going out. The only drawback was that the wi-fi password did not work. I called the tech support listed on the magnet on the fridge. They were good, but could not help because it appeared that their equipment was swapped out with different equipment. I then called Kees to inquire to the issue around 4PM and they were closed for the day, which is awful early during peak vacation season (I believe they should have 24 hour phone coverage since there is no front desk). I left a voice mail and never received a call back (the tech I talked to from the internet company even warned me that Kees was hard to get a hold of). We finally figured it out (we used the password on the back of the router which was different than the one Kees had given us). Overall, it was a wonderful stay. My main concern would be that if we did have a major issue with our stay, could we contact the property manager?
