”The room was clean and large. The food was excellent and the monks were friendly and helpful. The grounds and facility was beautiful. We were blessed with a fresh snowfall to make it even more beautiful. Keep in mind if you go in the winter, even though your room is toasty warm, the halls are not. So any walking to dinner, a ceremony, THE BATHROOM, is all in freezing temperatures and I never got hot water from the tap to wash my hands with. ”

”We stayed one night in a very traditional Japanese temple Jokiin at Koyasan mountain. What an experience! We had the priviledge of attending the morning ceremony performed by local monks. Staff was extremely friendly and we enjoyed our stay at Jokiin. Looking forward to our next visit :) Highly recommend!”

”A spectacular stay from start to finish. The location is beautiful, the staff incredibly kind and attentive, and the ambiance truly special. The rooms were comfortable and serene, and both dinner and breakfast were absolutely incredible. The baths were spotless and very relaxing. 100% recommend staying here.”

”It was truly an amazing experience. At first please note that this is not a traditional hotel, but a active temple which hosts travellers. My room was traditional room with a tatami floor and shared bathroom. Room and bathroom were both clean and nice. The atmosphere in the temple was calm and quiet throughout my whole stay. Food that was served was amazing. It was also interesting to follow the morning service and the fire ritual. ”

”Wonderful stay. Lovely kaiseki dinner. The staff were super attentive and friendly. The hot spings were clean and very relaxing after a long day walking and driving. Oh and the view from the room in the morning across the valley was stunning”
