Throughly enjoyable!
We had a wonderful week at this amazing vintage cabin! Coming from southern Ontario, we would call it a real 'cottage'. Everything is comfortable and quiet and relaxing! We went on a few hikes, played bocci and crochet, built a few puzzles and basked in the sun. We appreciated every single gorgeous sunset along with every other scene throughout the day as it shifted in the prevailing winds, from the huge windows and wrap around deck. We enjoyed all the wild life including a couple eagles swooping down to perch on trees right outside our window. We even got to watch a pod of majestic orcas 'blow' by! The whole place is extra clean, kitchen is fully stocked for cooking, the beds are comfortable and the fireplace is another added bonus. This cabin is very special and we highly recommend it.

Disappointing
The cabin was cluttered and had too many of the owners personal belongings. The night we arrived we were going to BBQ & the igniter on unit didn’t work. Texted owner and no matches or lighter on site, but there might be a battery somewhere to fix it. Cabin heated by a small heater and a fireplace. 2nd day fireplace quit. Could not get it going again despite trying everything owner’s cabin manual suggested as well as what owner suggested by text. Owner said it had happened before. It wa 6 deg. C outside and it was just too cold in tge cabin for us to stay. We left after 2 nights. Had a TV, but no channels or streaming services. No telephone. Owner did not even mention any kind of refund and we didn’t ask.

It is unfortunate that these guests didn't replace the empty propane tank with one the full spare kept onsite rather than deciding the starter wasn't working. The fireplace shuts off automatically if left on the same setting for more than 6 hours. Simply press the up arrow and it starts up again. I confirmed both are working fine after they checkout. No other guests have had problems connecting the TV to the internet via Chromecast or HDMI. It is puzzling that they decided too leave early without calling me to ask for more help. I would have come to the Cabin, if necessary.

Lakeside cabin
The cabin was comfortable and had even more amenities than we needed. The tidal pools were great for exploring and learning and the wildlife sitings were a joy to see. Next time, I'll remember to wear socks or pants when walking in the long grass to save my ankles from the gnat bites. We would definitely stay here again!

Cozy Cabin
It's really the details. How beautifully the place is furnished, the friendliness and co operation of the Mann family/owners both add to the coziness. I love all the momentos of their travels around the world. Then Mother Nature takes over and delivers such a huge variety of wildlife right outside the door. Our status as 'visitors' is confirmed.

Most Amazing Place !
This is what a summer cottage should be like, warm, cozy, large deck, lots of seating areas, beautiful views, rocks to look under for the kids. The bonus is the deer that you see on the lawn and if you are quiet, they stay, the many eagles flying high above you, the sea lions barking away during the early evening and passing right by you. We loved this place and would book again. The view is absolutely amazing, you can sit for hours just looking at the water. Thank you Brian for letting us borrow your amazing cottage !

Perfect cabin by the sea!!
This was the perfect place to spend a week in the island. Perfectly maintained, great communication with owner, and a wildlife lover's dream! Deer, eagles, seals, sea lions, and even two Orcas were seen from the deck alone! Best view to just sit and enjoy.

We enjoyed this cabin and its location. We unfortunately had a lot of rain so weren’t able to use the awesome wraparound deck and outside area like we wanted to. Cabin was cozy and comfortable. Hosts were easy to communicate with.

A Wonderful place for a family gathering
The property was exactly what I was looking for. A wonderful rustic, but well equipped cottage surrounded by lovely views and right on the beach. There are also parks within walking distance. I highly reccomend it.

The cabin is adorable, very clean and lovely. Everything one needs can be found. Even extras like extension cords, pots/pans, measuring cups, dishware. There is a stove, microwave, kettle, toaster that we utilized. We brought our own but lots of extras can be found in the cupboard/fridge (brown sugar, ketchup, jam, etc). There is dish soap, laundry soap, body wash, and hand soap available for use and directions where to find more.There is no dishwasher but with a breath taking view of eagles diving for fish i did not mind. My bed was very comfortable. Blankets cozy. Lots of nice pillows too. For those with noise sensitivity the wall heater is loud. Bring a sweater and slippers in March. One can sit on the deck and enjoy the beauty of the water and see and hear nature. Many birds including pileated woodpeckers, hummingbirds, ducks, gulls, dark eyed junco, and the song sparrow were enjoyed. The best was juvenile eagles dancing in the sky. Seals several times a day. We could hear sea lions. You can go down the rocks to get a closer look if you so choose. A bench on the property overlooking the water bit farther down, one of us, spent hours there. A short drive you can check out quaint places and there are lovely beaches with sand to visit. Serious Coffee has the best carrot cake but watch, they close at 4. For a family get together or quiet gathering with 2 friends like I did, The Cabin, is perfect. I can't wait to return.

The panabode was well cared for and very clean. We immediately felt at home and could feel the memories made over the years. Brian was great to make himself available if needed. The view is spectacular and the abundance of sea lions, deers and other wildlife was always a welcome sight. We were lucky enough to see an Orca on our last day! Will definitely be back!

Rooms with a view !
Overall exceeded our expectation for a rustic / older cabin - well stocked and clean - that all said it is the view and water front location that is king for this property ! - The big wrap around deck allowed us protection from the sun or wind when needed . The water access was also great for our kayaks . Only negatives was noise from the logging operation on the other side of the bay as other wise fully peaceful !

The perfect getaway
What an amazingly perfect stay we had here! Peaceful, surrounded by nature, gorgeous views, wandering deers, playful sea lions swimming in the distance, close enough to Coombs we could spend a day exploring, close enough to easy hiking trails the whole family could enjoy. This cozy clean cabin was exactly what we needed to unplug and enjoy each others' company! We truly loved everything about it from the deco to the location. Probably the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in in a rental. Communication was also the best I've ever experienced. Thank you Brian for being an 5+ star host!! Thank you for sharing this lovely space, we will be back!!

The property was exactly as stated. The owners were great. We really enjoyed our stay. Well situated for hiking and shopping. Very nice neighborhood. Each evening we took the dog for a long walk along Marina Way.

Quiet Ocean Cabin
The cabin was beautifully situated at the end of a quiet street with direct access to the ocean. The bay was calm enough to enjoy paddle boarding (we brought our own) and warm enough to enjoy daily swimming. The cabin is cozy, clean, and well stocked. The reason for an overall 4 star rating is due to a situation in which I felt the owner could have reacted better. He has since apologized.

I admit that I didn't react well to the early morning call and texts from a neighbor telling me I had a fire spreading across my beach. Luckily the wind wasn't blowing that night so the 15 x 4 foot burnt area was easily extinguished using my very long garden hose. I have since instituted a strict no fires policy for all guests going forward.

Majestic location, wonderful stay!
My family of four (two teens) loved our 2-week stay. It is a tranquil and very peaceful setting with spectacular views. The cabin is comfy cozy, and well equipped. Despite unusually cool weather, we spent hours on the large deck (from morning coffee, to afternoon reading, and then evening wine). The kids loved the evening campfires in the fire pit. They made it in swimming a couple times. (Next time I would bring water shoes, as it is hard on the feet. But easier entry is only a few steps up the street. ) Interactions with Brian are great. We all hope that we will be able to visit again. This cabin is a treasure.

A happy reunion with friends in the area and with this property.
Even though the cabin is situated in a neighbourhood with convenience, security and the grid, it’s aspect feels more secluded, private, remote. The mostly quiet, infrequent boat traffic is always interesting. Wildlife is close and abundant.

Perfect vacation by the ocean
My friends and I loved our stay at Brian's cottage! It's beautifully located, right on the ocean: we appreciated being able to swim every day by just walking out the door and down the hill to the water. The sunsets are amazing, needless to say! The cottage itself is very neat, and well-equipped. We cooked every night and never had trouble finding what we needed. We rented some kayaks, on Brian's recommendation, and got to visit some seals nearby, which was a real treat! Would return for sure!

Beautiful view, beautiful deck.
Everything was good. Nice cabin. Perfect getaway. Not too far from town but away from the noise. The only downside was there is some construction in the area, but you can’t fault the owner. It just breaks the peace and quiet of the surroundings. The cabin is set out perfectly with a great sun deck.

Everyone who dropped by for a visit loved the well appointed property, beautiful view and sense of privacy. Many encouraged us to make this an annual destination so our Vancouver Island friends can get together , celebrate and stare at the magnificent sunset!
