Nashaquisset is a peaceful pastoral oasis (there are noise restrictions from 10pm - 8am, please refer to the rules and regulations section for details) located in the mid-island area. The neighborhood pool and tennis courts are just a few steps down the shell path outside our backdoor. The town is just 1.2 miles away, and the pristine beaches of the south shore are close too; Surfside 2 miles, Cisco 1.8 miles, Miacomet 2.5 miles. The Mid-Island Stop and Shop is less than a mile away, and several award-winning eateries from "don't even bother shaking the sand out of your shorts" take-out burritos, to "put on your fanciest tube top" seafood joints. Leave the car behind if you are too late to book the traditional ferry. You can easily hoof it, bike it, or Uber it from this locale. One parking spot is available at the house along with 2 adult Trek bikes.
The open-concept living/dining/kitchen makes gathering easy and keeps the conversation flowing. The kitchen has everything you will need to; bake cookies, whip up some smoothies, boil up some fresh lobster, or fire up the gas grill on the patio. Leave your pots, pans, and coffee maker at home. It is already here!
You will sleep well on 100% cotton 400 thread count Company Store sheets, hypoallergenic pillows, quilts, and comforters. Don't worry about the sun waking you, there are blackout blinds in each bedroom. Both bath and beach towels are stocked. Just throw a pair of flip-flops and your bathing suit in a bag and get here already!
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
Brew up a cup of coffee and head out to the patio to enjoy the birdsong and the soft summer breeze. Then hop on the bikes and take a right just outside the neighborhood and you are on the bike path directly to Surfside Beach! Stop at 45 Surfside Bakery and Cafe (0.4 miles) or Yummy Cafe (0.6miles) for a quick bite of brekkie along the way.
Spend a leisurely day on Surfside Beach. No need to leave for lunch, the snack bar is outstanding, and public bathrooms are available too. Head back home for a nice dip in the community pool or rinse off in the private outdoor shower before strolling through the enchanting streets of Nantucket as you head into town. Take a historic walking tour, or visit the Whaling Museum (trust us, it is amazing!). Stick around town and dine at one of our incredible award-winning restaurants; Dune, Ventuno, Lola 41, Bar Yoshi, there are so many to choose from! Or stay close to home and enjoy a meal at some of mid-Island's best restaurants. Island Kitchen is our favorite for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner (yes we are regulars, yes they know our dog's name, and yes we have often dined there more than once in a single day), or hop back on the bikes for a quick ride to the famous Cisco brewery if you are looking for something more lively.
THERE'S MORE!:
Besides its stunning beaches, Nantucket has so much more to offer; Hiking (download the ACK Trails App for trail info), golf, historical tours, the Whaling Museum, galleries, shopping, Liones Observatory, Linda Loring Nature Preserve, Coskata Coutue Wildlife Refuge, sunset sailing tours, the historic 'Sconset bluff walk, we even have a museum called the Shipwreck and Lifesaving Museum! (Don't miss it, it's fascinating)! Nature, culture, food, it is all here. Oh and the ice cream! Don't forget the ice cream; Juice Bar, Island Kitchen (yes they do ice cream too), Jack and Charlie's. There is so much to do on this tiny island. You will never be bored.
