Central Deco beauty
Our family of five loved this house! It's central looking out over Hawke's Bay and a short walk to Napier centre. Compact but good-sized bedrooms/living space and plenty of free parking. Nicely done up, while also keeping the area's Deco character. Highly recommended, will stay again.

Super basic, has potential
Great location & pretty clean. But felt like the absolute minimum required. One bedroom had no other furniture, so everything has to go on the floor; no rail/hooks for shower towels; not enough crockery for number of beds (had to do breakfast in shifts); could really do with lamps, coasters, pictures, anything to make it homely.

Close and easy
The house is comfortable and easy to stay in. Nothing super flash but original style and has what you need, plus very comfortable beds. Close to the waterfront and just a short walk to town centre.

We loved the property, lots of original features, close to the centre. Beds great standard., hotel standard 👍, . The kitchen items could be improved, tons of knives, but no bread knife, 3 dessert spoons and , 3 bowls only .. as commented on in other reviews A little effort could improve the stay ,and the weeds out the front don’t enhance the property . We would stay again , overall it suited our needs.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay, the location was great, literally across the Napier Beach. The house itself and the facilities were clean upon arrival. There are two bedrooms that are beside the road, so you'd hear cars and motorbikes pass that was the only thing that was kind of annoying. But overall, great place to stay and would book again if visiting Napier in future.

Spacious and Convenient
Great location! The property is bigger than we were expecting. It has a lovely outlook. As the house is built right by the roadside it is quite noisy at night, but we felt this was a small price to pay for the convenience of the location.

Location and house is very centrally. Parks, beaches, shops, supermarkets is very close by. Kitchen utensils is very old and not enough. TV need to update. Most of the places have smart tv now so can steaming Netflix or YouTube. Thank you.

Met our needs
Overall we were pleased with our choice and we would stay again. We were a party of two couples and one single female. All over 40. As we arrived during a very hot period the road noise was an issue for sleeping as the air conditioning was only in the lounge and the bedrooms were very hot and stuffy. Privacy requirements meant the curtains were pulled preventing any external air circulation and doors were also closed. Long-term, units may need to be in each bedroom to address this. I was a bit confused at first about check-in and had to message to find out what to do. An email confirming the booking with instructions would prevent this. Personally I would like more cleaning products to maintain the property during my stay including washing up liquid. Thank you to Edgewater motel. They were great.

My friends and I enjoyed staying in a house as opposed to a motel room as it gave us the ability to hang out in the lounge. We liked how close it was to town. Clean and tidy with everything you need.

What a lovely cozy little house.

Disappointing weekend
Great location but the house is incredibly dirty.It leaks we were up in the middle of the night with a bucket and towel.Slow communication from owner.Our family of 5 booked for 3 nights only 1 towel per person and 1 tea towel for the stay.Washing machine but no dryer.Broken door stops,curtains etc.It needs a really good scrub and some money spent to get it up to a half decent standard.I sent our kids to stay with family as it was so dirty.Incredibly disappointing and would not recommend to anyone

The house was clean, modern, and comfortable and in an excellent location. It's across from the beach and only a couple of blocks from the National Aquarium. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the property. Very nice property.

Perfect location for a family
The beach and the playground are just across the road with the warehouse and other shops also in close proximity. The aquarium down the road a short distance was also wonderful. Only downside was that it was noisey at night (window is right beside the pavement) so you could hear people’s conversations and young people on the playground / electric scooters at night… however we stayed over the silly season where there were a lot of people around and teens about so I would say it would not be an issue any other time. There was also a carport which had a gate which would be ideal for family’s with a small toddler that might want to have a little bit of space for a ride on toy or chalk drawing etc. The property itself was older style but renovated and nice. Very I keeping with the Artdeco city. We would definitely stay again.

Beauty By the Sea
The purpose of our trip to Napier was to visit the National Aquarium, scooter at New Zealand's best skateboard park, and catch the 3D version of the new Avatar movie. We accomplished everything because the bach was so central and all the venues were within walking distance. We were able to get some nice meals too. The best part for me was going to sleep listening to the rhythm of the ocean, on fresh sheets. The bach was beautifully renovated and very comfortable. My only negative comments are that there were not enough plates or cutlery for our family of 5, and it would have been great to access a cable TV service.
