Welcoming and charming, this historical landmark was very pleasant and a great location with a boat dock and fishing. The town is very easy to navigate and the people are friendly. Would return again!

Absolut gigantisch. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, die Klimaanlage und der Ventilator waren an, das Bett super bequem. Die Kommunikation mit der Leitung war hervorragend. Es schien als ob ich der einzigste Gast war 😄. Am Abend war das Grundstück verlassen, aber ich genoss den Sonnenuntergang, und das Dinner im Café nebenan. Und der Sheriff fuhr mit dem PKW herum. Alles Liebe und Gute, vielen Danke für den Aufenthalt. Andreas

Dinner was great. Room had no soap, Kleenex or toiletries. Went to get coffee in the morning and the hotel was closed up. Room was not cleaned daily. Not good for $125 by.

The hotel does not accept credit cards. I didn’t know until I arrived. We went inside the Inn and tracked down an employee who checked us in. Thank goodness we had a checkbook in the car. You are suppose to text check in but I never saw the text. Very confusing.

Very nice staff. Cash only was less than ideal but managed. Room was not in great condition. Clean but the TV didn’t work and the flood lights on the signage in front shined into the windows. Very accommodating folks and great people but not a modern operation by any stretch of the imagination.

Love the atmosphere, but not the accommodations.

Have always enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere of the Rod and Gun Club. While traveling in the area, we decided to stay over night. The rooms upstairs have not been rented out for many many years, but they offer a few double unit cottages. The rooms were in need of updating. The bathroom was very tiny. We found it over priced for the value.

Stayed 2 nights with our 2 dogs. Room was clean enough, beds were comfortable, however for the money paid there was zero amenities. For example, one bar of soap between the bathroom sink and shower. No coffee in the room or in the lobby. No Wi-Fi in the room. I also found it very unappealing how there were two signs at the lobby door saying that "management frowns on sightseers".

This place looks nothing like the pictures. The entire town has not recovered at all from the hurricane. Very sad to see. When we pulled in it was like a ghost town no one around at all I’m certain we were the only people there. We decided it looked unsafe to stay so we left

Hotel is a fun, historic property in need of a lot of maintenance. The rooms in the main building are not open, and the cabins are very basic, with window air conditioning units. The main building has scaffolding up on the sides for wood repair and painting, but no work was being done while we were there. Some of the property is closed off with orange tape, as the docks and an out building were damaged years ago and never repaired. The water to the hotel was shut off for 4 hours from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with no compensation offered by the hotel. Bring cash, no credit cards accepted and no notice of that fact. It was a historic and vintage hotel many years ago, but is now very tired.

We were banned from the property! They only answer their phones sporadically. You may or may not have a reservation unless you talk to the front desk. Good luck. It is not staffed. The public bathroom in the lobby has cobwebs draped from the ceiling like it may bed Halloween. Our room was not made up. Dirty towels, beds unmade, wastebasket full, cigar butts in the ashtray. We attempted to find staff to make up our room, but at 8pm the entire place was locked up. No lights. No one there. The food was excellent for our only meal there. Two fish dinners and 4 beers. Total bill $140.00 Yes, one hundred forty dollars. The single boat launch is okay, and you can tie up in front. Bring you own lines. There is a freshwater connection on the seawall. The male manager called us because we returned to the place and got our room charge back due to the dirty room. $160 in cash. They take NO credit cards. Cash only. You cannot put a hold on a credit card payment. We were lucky that the very nice young lady at the desk gave us a refund. The owner/manager said to us, "Don't ever f------ come back here! We lost $150 on the room. You're f------banned for life! Oh well, we would not return to such poor service and high prices and incompetent management. And no credit cards? Only cash? Hmmmmm.

The actual clubhouse is a real jewel of a historical building. We got a semi-detached villa with a private porch, which was superb, altough I'm afraid the mosquito netting needed repairst might not hold up during the worst of the mosquito season. Otherwise, the villa was really nice. The check in process was a bit confusing, since there was no actual manned front desk, but the staff was very friendly once we found someon to check us in. The club has also a restaurant which, I believe, is the most upscale in the whole town. The food was not bad either.
