Dana, We are sorry to hear that your stay was not a good experience for you and your family. We strive to make it the best home environment we can for each and every guest who stays, and to say that we do not care is far from the truth. At all times during your stay we treated you with respect and kindness. When we were informed of the AC issues our first response was to contact the service company to arrange for evaluation. Unfortunately they were unable to provide service during your stay. We then came to the home to check the unit and settings to see if we could troubleshoot. We responded to your requests within an hour or less of being informed of the issue. Each time we arrived at the house, the air was at 70 or 71 and it was cool both upstairs and downstairs. Units were functioning outside and registers(vents) were blowing cold air. We understand that you might keep your AC at a lower temp at your home but we set ours to a level that keeps the unit functioning efficiently. All bedrooms except one did have ceiling fans and additional standup fans for comfort. We could understand the need to set the temp lower if it were in the 80’s or 90’s but the temperatures during your stay were in the mid 70’s in the day to low 50’s at night. At one of our trips to the home we found the upstairs unit set to 63 which could have caused damage to the unit. We did request on our three trips to the home that you be there as well but neither of our schedules would make that possible. Our scheduled service tech did come and evaluate both units which they found to be functioning properly. And since the unit was in working order we did not think that any kind of refund was warranted as you “expected”. As far as your other concerns, you at no time mentioned anything about the door. As far as cobwebs, that can happen in just a couple days being we are in a more rural setting. This by no means constitutes our home being dirty. And we have since had 2 other guests stay after your departure and neither parties have had issues with the AC. We hope in the future you will find a home more suited to your needs.
