When I checked in and got to the elevator it almost crushed me going in with my cart. The elevator door doesn't hold or pause when something or someone is getting on. The room was ok. Had to find places to plug things once i realised that a couple of the outlets just weren't plugged. Breakfast was pretty good. Then on my way out the door panel fell off. There's plenty of homeless people hanging around outside so I didn't feel safe to go smoke a cigarette. Definitely will reconsider my stay next time.

I didn’t even get access to a tv while I was there. I ask the front to make sure I didn’t have mold on the walls no response. Along with the bad elevator there are some plumbing issues didn’t have hot water we had to go to family houses for a hot shower smh. The office manager lied on my last day saying he would comp my nights no refund yet. I want suggest staying here.

It was a very nice place to stay, staff was great! The only discrepancies were having to pay for parking, the phone in our room didn’t work and the second elevator in hotel didn’t work as well.

My room was very clean and walking distance to all the shops and burbon st I was able to walk to my hotel every night

The place is dirty, hotels staff is incompetent. Took the girl and her supervisor about half and hour to look for our reservation. Finally I used the compute and print the receipt to prove we HAD a reservation! And we were in a hurry; we had a rehearsal dinner to go! The elevator is small and doesn't keep the door open for more than 5 second. The room was clean and specious; bathroom very small. Breakfast was not good. Don't even want to start on the coffee! I would not recommend this hotel to any one!

The front desk staff I dealt with were excellent which was afternoon and evening. They provide a list of great restaurants and maps of the area. The morning front desk needs some additional training in customer relations and a smile would not hurt. We had to call our own taxi as he didnt seem to want to help. Cleaning staff needs a lot of work, we stayed 4 days and had we not called our room would not have been cleaned, shower soap ran out and none was replaced even after we asked. Other service responded to a toilet issue very quickly. Most breakfasts were good although some of the eggs and meats were cold in the center. Canal Streetcar stations are located one block in either direction. Street noise on Friday and Saturday nights were crazy with young people racing ATV's,cars and motorcycles til 2am. Not a problem the hotel can do anything about except call the police. Elevator issues were on going but they are working on them. Having a security guard stationed at the front entrance was nice to see and they were very helpful with any questions we had about the area. With a bit more training by the manager whom we met she is very nice, this hotel could be a gem in this part of the quarter.

The staff was awesome, rooms were clean, free breakfast was great, area was second to none. Overall the experience was excellent. Definitely will come again to this well maintained beautiful historic building/hotel. Definitely recommend…

Tuvimos un problema con el aire acondicionado a las 23:00 y no había nadie que solucionase el problema ni nos dieran una solución hasta el día siguiente que nos cambiaron de habitación. Por lo demás , todo OK, pero que no haya nadie a partir de las 22:00 que hable idiomas y gestione problemas, MAL

We love the Hampton Inn on Canal. We’ve been staying there for a couple of years, back when it was the Hotel Vinache. Hampton Inn’s major renovation has transformed it into a real jewel. And the staff is excellent, especially Brandi, who is the manager. It’s an interesting property. Back in the early 70s it was a dormitory (Hawthorne Hall) for Tulane Medical School. The first time we stayed there, Alice said, I think this was my dormitory when I did my Master’s degree! Sure enough, it was!
