Mukava hotelli
Todella siisti ja mukava hotelli, ja henkilökunta oli ystävällistä. Huone oli kompaktin kokoinen, mutta oikein hyvä! Hotellin sisustus on hauska kirjastoteemaa mukaillen. Aamupala oli monipuolinen. Yöpyisimme tässä hotellissa uudelleen!

A lovely hotel in a central location
Our stay at the Library Hotel was a pleasant one. The reception staff was very attentive as was the staff on the second floor (the so called reading room, where the breakfast and the afternoon snacks are served). We had a Deluxe Room, which despite its name wasn't especially luxurious, but it provided a decent king-sized bed and was located on the 7th floor, which was nice enough (the hotel has 14 floors). Our hotel neighbours were slightly more active than we would have preferred (talking extensively in the corridor and going there and back all the time), but that is by no means the hotel's fault, and the sound isolation between the rooms is adequate. Our toilet got clogged without a specific reason, but the staff handled it very professionally, so no real problem there either. I would say that the hotel is worth its rather expensive price considering the location and the level of service. The only minus I would like to mention is that it took 13 days (9 working days) for our 500 USD pre-authorisation to be cancelled from my credit card, a time period that I personally think is too long. The hotel couldn't do anything to speed things up even when I asked about it after 8 days of waiting for it to vanish. It usually doesn't take this long, so the hotel could try to update their practices on this (and there should be a possibility to cancel it manually when requested by the client, after the room has been checked).

I am sorry to hear that the credit card authorization took almost 2 weeks to be released - it takes usually up to 7 business days, but rarely, depending on your card issuer can take longer. Sadly, there is very little we can do on our end since the process is automatic - the authorizations are released when a guest checks out with Front Desk. I hope that this did not put a damper on your trip! Thank you for staying with us and we are looking forward your next visit!

We frequently love the hotel we choose-- I do a lot of research-- though we end up staying at a new place each time for variety. But after The Library we have a 'home' in Manhattan. Perfect in every way and amazing value.

This is a wonderful boutique hotel. Great service and friendly, accommodating staff. The second floor with coffee, water and snacks anytime of the day and night a plus. The rooftop adds another layer of ambience. All in all the perfect hotel.

Good location, pleasant rooms, friendly staff and the 2nd floor lounge is a nice facility. Downsides - it's not very easy to find, surrounded by scaffolding; the rooms are a little dark (nothing better lighting wouldn't fix); and there are no coffee-making facilities in the rooms, which is just wrong.

Although, we do understand we can be difficult to find, we do state that our entrance is on 41st street on all of confirmation and pre-stay emails. To maximize space for our guests, we do not place coffee-making machines in the room, but they are available for our guests if you should request one. We hope to see you again.

Loved our stay here! Staff at the front desk was welcoming and very friendly. Our room was cozy and had everything we needed. The second floor offers a quiet place to sit and provides snacks, water, and coffee! The rooftop bar was very nice with great cocktails and tasty small bites. The area is busy with lots to see and many places to eat - returning to the hotel at the end of our long days was always super pleasant.

Library Hotel is a hidden gem in Manhattan, especially for book lovers, with its unique books decor setting in every nook and cranny. My husband and I loved the ease of access to the Reading Room on the 2nd floor with 24 hour availability of healthy snacks - a sufficient variety of mixed nuts (at least 4 different options), energy bars and fruits (apples, bananas), coffee, teas and water. The Reading Room encouraged afternoon lounging and a place to revive after a day out walking. The hotel is ideally located along Library Way within a block of the New York Public Library and around the corner from the Grand Central Station (for ease of transportation links) and close enough (walkable) to shopping, theatre and other scenic sites (like the St Patrick's Cathedral). At each step, from check in to check out, the hotel's team members (whether at the front desk, cleaning staff or at the Reading Room) were very approachable, accommodating and personable. The hotel's on-site restaurant Madison and Vine offered well-presented and tasty Italian meal options. Having arrived late evening from a long international flight we were welcomed there and immediately served (at around 9.30pm). Our petite room booked was more than apt, on the 8th Floor with our selected Literature theme. Overall, we loved the hotel's cosy, comfortable and feel-inspired writers' vibe, and we would stay again. Thank you Library Hotel!

The staff was so friendly and courteous. The amenities were above and beyond all expectations. Umbrellas were provided as we went out to explore the city in the rain, espresso and gourmet snacks in the reading room and extra treats at the rooftop lounge (just for being a guest). The room was also very spacious for a boutique hotel in the city. Easy walk to major sites, museums and shows. We’ll definitely stay here again - every time we come to NYC.

I’ve stayed at your hotel years ago and it was wonderful. With that said, I was so incredibly disappointed this time. The hotel is so rundown. The rooms were old, the walls were stained, the towels were so ratty that they felt like sandpaper, the sofa was disgusting, and the toiletry products were sub par. If you want to continue charging what you do, then you need to do some simple upgrades.

Loved the whole library vibe, even the quiet reading room! The rooftop bar was not very helpful and we felt a bit stupid for not following what seemed to be the process. Reservations for a bar? Closing time? Where to sit? All in all, a wonderful place.

We were blown away by our stay. The staff was friendly and the property was gorgeous. The lounge area on the second floor was a game changer and being able to get an espresso and a small snack was a great way to decompress after walking around the city. The room was small, but honestly larger than we expected and was perfect for our needs. We will go out of our way to stay here again and would highly recommend it to our friends.
