I live here and there's a park right on the shore of Lake Macquarie (Australia's largest salt water lake, as in one that actually has water in it all the time). There's a lovely park, sadly without facilities, just down the road and it's a wonderful spot to shoot sunrises or view some bird life.

One of the things I'm interested in is nature photography. When I moved to Buttaba I discovered a grevillea in a park not too far away and the honeyeaters love it. This is an eastern spinebill. Apart from small raptors this is about the only bird I know that hovers in Australia. It's not as competent as a hummingbird but it still made for a nice photo.
Nothing like a sunset; well, except a sunrise that is, and what better place to snap one than reflected in Australia's largest salt water lake (as in one with water actually in it) - Lake Macquarie.

Didnt use pool. Room was so noisy with traffic noise we found it hard to sleep. Only light curtains on windows and room was right at back of hotel close to a main road.
