”The staff were so pleasant to talk to and since my wife and I were not able to climb stairs, we were upgraded to a first floor room. The breakfast served every day was so delicious and ready when we were. Everything we needed was taken care of by wonderful people. Also all the attractions are within walking distance since the hotel is located downtown. I highly recommend the Melville House and we will be staying there again.”

”Great stay in cool room and building in EXCELLENT location in town. Only two concerns were 1) the rooftop area should be smoking-friendly(!) we would have used it at night, and 2) TERRIBLE cleaning effort on 2nd day/night with no change of sheets, unmade bedspreads, no trash removal, incomplete towel set, etc. Enjoyed our stay but left note about the cleaning issue.”

”If you are looking to stay near Bowman’s Warf this is the perfect place. It’s quaint, quiet and the breakfast is delicious! They were so helpful and friendly and I will be returning! This Inn is in walking distance to the free trolley service and shopping.”

”The property was quaint, had history and was well located to town. Parking was free and convenient. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were clean. Breakfast was diverse and of quality.
What I didn't like was the obvious wear. Walls had dings. Wallpaper was torn. Furniture was old and interesting but faded and tired.
We still enjoyed our stay and we would stay again.”

”Cleveland House is perfect for those who want the experience of a bed and breakfast without all of the high-end luxury amenities. First the sheets and towels were top of the line… Fine Linen. Wonderful!. The rooms were clean. The stairs are standard 19th century very narrow very steep and quite squeaky with floral carpet. No elevator! Common areas are cluttered. But the staff was top-notch and helpful and kind. As a solo traveler it was safe. Location is perfect to walk around downtown...

”The view of the harbor! The sunset was different everyday. The light was changing all day long and some sailboats were beautiful.
The vent of the air-conditionner could have been a bit cleaner but we came after a busy Memorial Day weekend, so that may have been overlooked. The room itself was very clean.
Sitting outside by the fire pit was a plus. Having breakfast in the hotel was so convenient.
We will be back.”

”We are very happy to recommend Forty1. Our family of 4, with 2 teenage daughters accommodated nicely in the room of 2 queen size beds, city view. The gas fireplace did not work, though, but it did not play a big role in our stay during the summer hot season in July. Very attentive staff.”

”I travelled with my husband and two older teenage children. It was our first stay in Newport. The inn has an excellent location, amazing views, great rooms, and excellent/helpful staff. There is a parking in front of the inn and the property serves continental breakfast and cookies and coffee in the afternoon. I definitely recommend it!”

”I liked that it was basically a one bedroom apt. Clean, super convenient to everything. Didn’t live that window in bedroom didn’t open. Light over sink flickered consistently- so we turned it off.
It was a little noisy due to location but that wa ok- I bring ear plugs. Staff was great and view from observation deck of sunset amazing !”
