Welcome to this cozy, secluded cabin retreat nestled in a serene woodland setting, just 90 minutes from NYC. Perfect for a peaceful getaway, this cabin offers 2 bedrooms—one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds—and 1 full bathroom. The open kitchen, living, and dining area includes a flat-screen TV and a wood-burning stove, creating a warm and inviting space to relax. Enjoy two outdoor spaces: a stone-laid, screened-in porch for quiet mornings or evenings free from the elements, and a charming patio overlooking the lush forest and a babbling creek, ideal for unwinding with a coffee or evening drink. This rustic, private retreat invites you to disconnect and recharge. Guests are asked to arrive before sunset to fully enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

This is a side by side duplex, with another short term rental unit next door. EVERYTHING is separate, including parking, entrance and all amenities.

Only toilet paper in the toilets. Disposing of anything else, such as feminine hygiene products or paper towels, can clog our pipes.

Never leave any food outside of trash bags, as we live in bear country and they're happy to eat whatever they can find.

Throw away any leftovers. Please don't leave them in the fridge or cupboards. They can attract pests or spoil.

No smoking. Smoking of any kind (cigarettes, cigars, recreational drugs) is strictly prohibited inside of our home.

Strip the beds before you leave. This will help us keep the house clean and fresh for the next guests.

No visitors without permission. Please let us know if you'd like to have guests over.

Nice little place

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Was very clean except for all of the camel crickets in the bathroom. One attempted to take a shower with me. Has a community fire pit, however the fire pit is on the opposite of the duplex in clear view of their windows, we felt as though we may have intruded on their privacy if we had a fire. We a very cute place.

Very cute

I cant say much because i only stayed 1 night but i will say it was exactly what i needed. The place is very cute, rustic but modern. The neighborhood was very quiet. I wish i could have stayed longer and if im ever in the area i would stay there again.

Inaccurate description

This is not an entire cottage, it is a duplex, with NO sound proofing. The couch cushions are thin, so you sit on the frame, the table & chairs & twin beds are rickety. The curtains are sparse in the front & in the bathroom so there is a big lack of privacy, since the cottage is right on the road & there are functions at the barn behind the cottage. There is no outside lighting so you need a flashlight. However Sticks & Stone grounds were good for hiking & taking the dogs for a walk

The full dose!

If you pictured this property minutes from the historic district of Newtown it’s exactly that. The space brings to life the feeling of the rustic yet comfortable aspect of Connecticut. My adult son and teenage daughter were comfortable but thoroughly enjoyed the living room fireplace. This location is 10 minutes away from restaurants that will please most families with a mix of family to high end with a side of fancy.

Peaceful and Quaint

This property was just what we needed when visiting the area. The rustic but peaceful setting is one we wish we could have enjoyed more of. We would have loved to have spent more time on property with a fire in the wood stove or relaxing by the brook out back. The mattresses were comfortable and we slept well.
