This 2 bedroom/ 1 bathroom 1500 square foot house sits directly on the beach and only steps away from the Ocean View Fishing Pier and Rooftop Bar and Grill, and is conveniently located near Downtown Norfolk, Virginia Beach Oceanfront, Chic's Beach, Old Dominion University, Christopher Newport University, the Navy and Air Force bases, and many other attractions! There is WiFi, 50" Smart TV in the living room, 40" smart TVs in each bedroom, memory foam mattresses, 4x window AC units with heat pumps to keep the house very comfortable, and a kitchen with basic essentials. There is a washing machine at this house and a clothesline, no dryer.
The first picture is the view from the back porch of the house.
There is a queen bed in bedroom 1 and two twin beds in bedroom 2. If you need to use the sofa bed or additional twin bed stored in the sunroom, please request linens for those ahead of time.

Stay here if location and cleanliness are your top priorities. The house is on the beach and right next to the fishing pier, so some noise but not too much. The house is old, very run down and dysfunctional in its layout. It lives up to its description on the VRBO site as rustic. That said, the house was very clean and tidy it had all the necessities. Would not recommend it for small children due to some creative electrical work.

The host being non responsive! Got there late (9)due to traveling delays. Had address and code, opened the door to be greeted by a large dog and man. That was not happy we opened his door. Messaged host waited 30 minutes and had to have driver take us to a hotel. More expenses. Got response 30 minutes after checking into hotel. Next day checked out and he said we could use house behind the original one. Inside the house it was 20 degrees. No heat on, could not get heat to come on, had to call and get instructions on how to get the heat started. It took 9 hours after arriving that we could take coats off and be semi warm. By next morning the breakers were blown and called host twice with no answer, texted him and got response right away and he said we have to go outside and flip breakers.the list goes on. But this review is for the house booked but we were in the house behind The lack of host attention made it worse. Since we didn’t stay the whole time booked due to host error, I would have thought an offer to reimburse would come.

It reminded me of my uncle's beachfront home in the 70's in Md. Nothing fancy but comfortable, private and a lot of good memories. Very nice beach is so close to the house and this location is convenient to get to everything. Make sure you try the steamed crabs at Graham and Rollins' Hampton Seafood market just 12 miles away.

The house suited our needs perfectly. We were traveling to the area for a wedding and needed to bring our elderly dog with us. She enjoyed the easy walk to the beach and was comfortable when we had to be away from her. We had everything we needed, including peace of mind about our dog. Thank you.

The home was right on the beach as described, which is where I really wanted to stay. The home has great potential to be a wonderful place however the extremely weak flooring was terrifying to walk on, use the shower on and use the commode. My fiancée is a big man who is disabled and he was afraid he was going to fall through the floor.

The perfect quaint beach house in Ocean View. Me and my family, including our dog, had a wonderful stay that was peaceful. The beach wasn't crowded which was a bonus for us. The fishing pier next to the property allowed for the pleasure to watch the beautiful sunsets. While the fishing pier was open 24/7 during our stay, it was quiet and no riff raff. The host made sure to leave detailed notes about the property, things to do locally, and checkout instructions which weren't a mile long, which I've experienced in the past at other vacation rentals elsewhere in other states.

Quiet Retreat

I thought the location was very convenient. You are on the beach and a 20 minute drive to downtown Norfolk. Parking can be tricky on the weekends because the parking lot is tight. I would recommend taking a smaller vehicle, like a 4-door sedan (Toyota Corolla).

Started as a pleasure

The process started great but unfortunately the owner has ensured that we will never return. Started with lack of communication in receiving our ESA paperwork to charging us a week later for not providing it. Our chats clearly stated he did not provide us an email to send it to. After he charged us and I reached out he states that emotional support animals are not service dogs. Clearly doesnt know the laws or understand that mental disease and mental trauma are realistic issues for quite a few people.

Beach access is wonderful

If you are looking for a place right on the beach, this is it. The house was clean, furnishings are older but you are on the beach. You are right next to a public fishing pier. Pier is busy as is the parking lot, so not a quiet place to stay. If noise doesn’t bother you, you will enjoy this beach house.
