”Room is only 18 minutes outside of Iowa City so you're saving about $10-15 PER MINUTE of travel over the insanely overpriced rooms at the University of Iowa. The rooms are basic and so overly cheesy in their abuse of the great outdoors theme that it's fun! Everything has a moose or bear on it! But here's the clincher...it's quiet and (MY BIG TEST) the bathroom was clean! It's basic with a capital B but clean so I was happy. Will stay again for sure!”

”Terrible stay, we had two rooms both toilets kept flushing all night, staff said that was normal. The ac unit was ridiculously loud. Rooms were not clean just looked and felt dirty, literal hair all on the shower, stuck to the curtain on and in the toilet. Beds were at least hairless we think, but we all slept on top of everything. and there were kids running up and down the halls starting at 6 am we couldn’t sleep at all. And cleaning people were literally at our doors waiting by 10am when...

”Shower need to be re-caulked. Coffee machine at breakfast delivered half water. No hot or warm water in the morning for a shower before 7:30- 8:00. Immigrant attendant didn't answer the front desk phone and was not helpful. Could barely speak understandable English. When I inquired about no hot water, the reply was: The maintenance man doesn't come until 8:30. No more La Quinta hotels for us. Don't recommend this hotel.”

”Quiet room next to a stream, Museum Like atmosphere without the musky smell. Nice surprise to find a 4--5 star hotel in the middle of farmland country. Everything you could want in walking distance. Live bands, eateries, shopping and a park for the children.”

”There were ants in the room, broken chair in the room, broken security latch on the door. Pretty pathetic for a hotel.”

”The staff was amazing, moved us to a better room after our first room smelled like smoke. I had my two service dogs with me and they were amazing in accommodations even being a pet friendly hotel. The hot tub and pool were very nice and the breakfast was excellent!”

”The lobby of the hotel looks nice. Then you get into the rooms. They are dated and a bit worn. Our carpet had an iron burn mark. Wallpaper was peeling. The tub was super dangerous as it did not have a textured surface, and the one grab bar was inconveniently placed. This was adequate for one night, but I wouldn't stay here longer than that. The breakfast had very limited options.”
