River Island House lepää yksityisellä, metsäisellä saarella karujen Beartooth-vuorten juurella, Stillwater-joen länsihaarukalla Nyessä, Montanassa. Serenity now

The location is perfect! No people, no fireworks. Serenity on that front. Beautiful property with elegant features and tons of space. Favorite things about the property besides the beautiful location would be the indoor fireplace, the outdoor fire pit with plenty of wood for cookouts and warmth. They had plenty of towels, garbage sacks, soap and toilet paper for our stay. Loved the old fashioned bath tub to relax in after a long day. If I could make a suggestion it would be for a child /pet gate on the deck. That river was running fast and I certainly blocked my pet from access to it. Major disappointment was no hot tub. I booked this trip 7 months in advance and the description, photos and reviews indicated a hot tub. We arrived and it was outside all wrapped up waiting to be installed. That really disappointed me. Sitting on that deck, hearing the river and soaking in a hot tub would have been magical. We booked more space than we needed with lodging, taxes and fees it was 700 a night. A functional hot tub was part of my calculation in the cost and it was not there for us. When we arrived I found some trash in the bathroom garbage and the kitchen garbage along with an abandoned toilet paper roll in the corner of the bathroom. It was off putting to say the least, I wondered how throughly the property had been cleaned before we arrived. I spent some time cleaning before we settled in and I definitely cleaned before we departed doing the dishes, taking out garbage, etc.

The scenery was beautiful! But was a little concerned about all windows being unlocked and some open the basement door not being able to shut or lock so someone could come up through the basement and into the kitchen since that door knob locked from the basement. Couldn’t use the hot tub.

Magical Place!

This is the perfect place to spend a peaceful time surrounded by nature. The river right out the back was just beautiful. The trees all around were stunning. The cabin itself was very clean, well maintained, well stocked, comfortable, and homey. We especially loved the outside porch spaces. What a wonderful place all around!

This home and property will remain in my heart forever. Everything was as described and close to perfect. We loved the river and enjoyed sitting on the beautiful deck enjoying it plus the glider down by the water was so wonderful. This stay was very relaxing and peaceful. Definitely 5 stars!

If you are looking to spend time with nature in a tranquil, beautiful cabin - look no further! This is a gorgeous place set on a river island! Our family went for a fishing trip and came home with some amazing memories and great conversations had on the swing by the river! We had a great stay!!

Beautiful property

We enjoyed our stay. The house was the perfect layout for our family. Nice rooms. Wonderful kitchen, beautiful decks and front yard for doing outdoor games. If you want a view while sitting on the upper or lower deck this is not the house for you. I learned that I do not like to be completely surrounded by trees. We couldn't see the mountains at all from the since the property sits low and is surrounded by trees and a stream. Highly recommend the property for those that like seclusion and privacy without a view. Overall the manager and onsite property manager were wonderful. We appreciated the family time!! We love the mountain location.

Springtime stay with a few hiccups

The cabin is gorgeously built..upkeep not so much ., 5 ladies for a 3 night stay .. Upstairs shower did not work .. the shower handle fixture needs to be redone, the stopper was gone so no bath could be taken instead; the downstairs half bath sink stopper was in need of repair ; had snowed earlier that day and the heat was set at 60* when we got to home .. the heating system is funky and took a long time to heat up. The walls are somewhat thin for noise retention .. the floors throughout home was not that clean; the hot tub was not filled but I guess I overlooked that it as its yo and running in mid May. Beautiful setting right by the creek and great deck with lots of comfy furniture., The man who built cabin lives near by so he wax over to see if he could fix the shower but he could not at that time .. I was refunded a one nights stay with out asking .. I think if these issues are fixed and the cleaner kept tabs on issues as they arise and make sure it’s all tidy and working this would be a perfect 5* .. at this time it’s a 3-4

The Island getaway is a beautiful home in a beautiful setting. If you like the outdoors, this is a great place for you to stay. We enjoyed relaxing on the top deck and listening to the creek.

Beautiful, Tranquil Setting

The home is unique for its position within feet of the Stillwater River, nestled among mature hardwoods and pines. The sizeable house is solidly constructed, comfortable and well-appointed for couples or family gatherings. Its relative proximity to Red Lodge and the Beartooth Parkway a big plus too. The property manager and caretaker could not have made it simpler or more convenient for someone unfamiliar with the site. I hope to return again sometime soon!

Unbelievable Cabin!!

This cabin was everything we were hoping for and more. it was so "AWESOME," comfortable and the property was so nicely keeped. Had all the amenities you would need being away for home. Property manager's Communication was quick to respond to questions i would have. There was 2 porches upper one and the downstairs one and they were so well equipped to being comfortably outside! I would definitely want to go back. We loved the place!!

Peaceful and secluded

My wife and I loved staying in this charming home. It was clean and the kitchen was well-supplied. The hot tub on the deck, which is creek-side, was awesome. The area is beautiful and there’s are plenty of great hikes and scenic drives. We can’t wait to go back.
