Booked property and was then called and told there was no power to the house after my account was debited for the full rental. I was reimbursed for full payment.

Spring

The house was comfortable and very close the beach access. Unfortunately there were things that needed attention. The entire doorframe was hanging loose on the side entrance of the house. The door would not close properly due to this. My husband kind of pounded it in the best he could. Nothing was going to be done on this until after we were leaving! The toilet ran constantly and it didn’t flush properly. A maintenance person came to replace a few parts. Our internet wasn’t working, therefore the televisions weren’t functioning. We had to call on that too. The ice maker wasn’t working but we figured out the water was disconnected! The outside shower was completely unusable.. the line was cut. There was no grill. I know that wasn’t included in the description but we found that kind of annoying! The blanket for a bed was obviously unwashed. There was a stain on it so we called and got another but all these things were an inconvenience! There were no pizza or other flat pans, no cleaning supplies left from others, no salt and pepper… nothing like that! I realize this is just stuff others bring and leave. I do that myself! It may have been the first rental of the season… I don’t know, so the owner didn’t know about the problems!We have been renting in Oak Island both spring and fall for many years and have never had so many issues in a property.

Great location

The house itself is definitely in need of some updates, and I recommend someone go in and scrub it really well. It was quite dusty in some areas. The kitchen layout is quirky but that's not a big deal. The shower is teeny tiny (I'm small too but still felt squished in there). When we first arrived one of the boards to the front door steps was completely off. They did come and fix it after I called it in. The pillows aren't great. But the beach access is just 3 houses down, the kitchen was stocked with cookware if we had chosen to cook. And the TV was nice for our evening wind-down time. I probably wouldn't stay again but it was a cheaper place than most.

Morning star

The property was well clean and tidy and an easy walk to the 22nd entrance to the beach. Ac worked and the shower behind the house came in handy. Property was stocked well with kitchen necessities, and linens. I would book this property again and most likely will in the future
