Perfect spot

The property had all the amenities we needed for our family and was the perfect spot. Centralized for all the restaurants and shops we wanted to check out. Pool was awesome too.

This property was awful. The couch and loveseat is so dirty I had to cover them with sheets to even sit on them. Soft spots in the floors and a leak in the ceiling. The wash machine and dryer are rusted. I would not recommend this property at almost 3k per a week. No remotes to the TVs. I did call Better Beach Rentals and they got us remotes but the TV in the bedroom still did not work. You have to have your own streaming service or else you can’t watch TV. When I complained to Better Beach rentals they didn’t apologize or acknowledge my complaint.

We rented for just three nights, so the options were limited in order to be near other family members on Oak Island - in the Southern Shores condos. We’ve rented in this building many times and this was the least well-appointed unit we have ever resided in. There was mold in the master bedroom closet, the kitchen equipment was pretty antiquated and the HVAC seem to get hot and then super cold. We could not keep it steady. Additionally, we got there early on Wednesday (check in day) and could tell that the unit had been cleaned because there was a black linen bag resting on the door that the Housekeeper had left. However, the Management (asked by phone and asked in person - both times were told “no”). They would not let us get into the unit until 3:45 that day. The person at the front desk actually said “since you’re right there we know it won’t be inconvenient for you to come back at 3:45!” It was such an offensive assumption on their part. It was particularly difficult because we were trying to help host a 40th birthday party for our niece so I had a lot to do. It was extremely frustrating and unnecessary for them to make us wait so long. We will not be using Better Beach Rental again!

Disgusting

Walked into one of the most disgusting rentals ever Sand and dirt all over the floors Some dried up spilt sticky cola or beer on tile The previous renters must have had a small child who slobbered all over the deck sliding glass door and front glass door and also on the TV Back screen door was off when we got there This unit is our dated and dirty and the listing said something totally different Please correct the description so if anyone else chooses to rent, they’ll walk-in to what their getting Never again!

Weekend vacation

Overall, this property was great for my wife and I to get away for a long weekend. The kitchen and master bath have been updated and were very nice. The place was mostly clean however there were a few areas like air filters and glass windows that could be addressed. We ate breakfast on the balcony every morning with a beautiful view of the ocean. If I could give a critique, I would say that the couch is really uncomfortable (it’s pretty outdated) and the bed was a bit hard too. Wish those things could be updated but we still enjoyed our stay. We did after hours checkin and was a bit confused in how to find our unit since the key number was different from our unit number. The after hours call helped tremendously and was very polite. Our internet went out and the property management responded fairly quickly in fixing it. Loved the area and really enjoyed a not so crowded beach and pool in September.

This Condo was as promised!

Older building needs some work. Condo unit is excellent. We'll be back.
