Located just a block and a half from the ocean in one direction and mere steps from charming stores and delightful restaurants in the other, this spot lets you enjoy everything Fire Island has to offer. With four spacious bedrooms, Spectrum House comfortably sleeps up to eight guests, making it ideal for families traveling with caregivers. The highlight of the home is the fully-equipped Sensory Gym in the back room. It includes cuddle and platform swings, weighted blankets, foam barrels, and much more to provide a stimulating and calming space for children. This home has 2 beach umbrellas, 6 beach chairs, and 4 bikes. Fire Island's no-car policy ensures an extra layer of safety for peace of mind. Spectrum House is proudly certified Autism Ready by Becoming rentABLE and the Autism Travel Club, affirming a commitment to providing a supportive environment for all families. Stay connected with high-speed internet, perfect for supporting assistive communication devices. Relax in the skylit living room with two plush sofas and two cozy chairs. The house also features two bathrooms with showers, one with a tub, both equipped with anti-slip adhesive stickers for added safety. To deter eloping or roaming the house is surrounded by a six-foot privacy fence and there is only one gate out of the house, protected by a punch-code lock on the inside. Breakables inside the house have been removed as best we could. All dishes, forks and knives are plastic or wood, and cooking and eating knives, such as carving and steak knives, are in a lockbox. All cabinets are secured with child-proofing or with actual locks, which you'll have the combination to. The back room is a full-sized, fully equipped Sensory Gym, with platform and cuddle swings, rollers, tunnels and sensory balls, and more. We recommend that, in general a child be supervised but you know your child best. The doors on the inside and outside that lead to the sensory room have locks you can use, or not, depending on your child. There is a BBQ Grill on the deck, but the propane is locked up in the laundry shed.
