Cozy Chalet in Ocean Shores located within steps from the beach

Tidal House offers a convenient location and a cozy atmosphere. This recently remodeled 1960's chalet is the perfect beach getaway! Walk to the beach on beautiful sunny days and enjoy watching the deer graze in the grass right outside your window!

We won't be available on-site but we check our messages frequently and will be available to communicate during your stay if any issues arise or if you have questions.

Tidal House is in the heart of Ocean Shores, surrounded by other lodging businesses, and is within walking distance to the beach, shopping (including a supermarket if you need to stock your fridge), bike rentals, and restaurants. Additionally, it is just a one-minute drive from the main beach access point.

During your stay, if you listen closely you'll be able to hear the waves inside from the chalet.

Enjoy the wildlife! There's a high deer population in Ocean Shores and you're likely to experience several sightings during your stay... sometimes even right outside your window!

This unit is part of a 1960's chalet-style duplex. Guests have a private entrance and full private use of their chalet. Unit access is provided via digital key code, so you can directly access it upon your check-in time.

Guests receive one parking space directly next to the entrance to their unit.

Expecting visitors?
Additional visitor parking is located on the south side of the property (near the Grey Gull). Please ensure that your visitors do not park in spaces designated for neighboring units.

STEEP STAIRCASE
Please note that the staircase in this unit is very steep. Guests must use the handrail when going up the stairs.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENT
Please be aware that the main sleeping area is on the 2nd level, with the bathroom on the 1st level.

This chalet sleeps up to 4 individuals and is part of a vacation rental duplex in a chalet-style building. The chalet includes 1 king bed in an open-concept loft at the top of the stairs. Additionally, the couch on the 1st floor is a sofa queen bed.

WINDOWS / VIEWS
Please note that right outside the chalet is a break area for hotel next door that you can see from the window. You can close the blinds for privacy. Even with the blinds closed the chalet gets a lot of light due high ceilings and windows.

At night there is some street light that be seen in the unit. Upstairs we have some curtains to help darken the space for sleeping.

FIREPLACE NOTE
The fireplace is not functioning, but we have electric candles (with a remote) that provide a nice ambiance.

KITCHEN
The Chalet includes a full-size range, dinnerware, pots and pans, microwave, and full size refrigerator + freezer. Guests are required to wash all dishes they use, as there is not a dishwasher.

DUPLEX
Please note that these are duplexes, so the walls are shared with one other guest.

PUBLIC TRANSIT
Grays Harbor Transit serves the Ocean Shores community. For information on routes and pick-up times visit the Grays Harbor Transit website.

RIDE SHARE
Uber is available in Ocean Shores.

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT
Our check-in time is at 3:00 PM, and our check-out is at 11:00 AM. We have strict cleaning protocols for our cleaning crew and cannot be flexible with early check-in or late check-outs.

NO PARTIES
We ask that guests do not have parties and keep noise levels to a minimum out of consideration for the neighbors. We strive to provide a peaceful getaway near the beach. Quiet hours after 10 pm.

FIRES
We currently do not allow bonfires on the property.

SAND
We also suggest removing shoes at the door after a visit to the beach to avoid excessive sand in the chalet.

ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING
Electric car charging on the property is not permissible as it could provide a safety hazard. The electrical systems are not set up for car charging. The closest EV car charging 3.9 miles away at Quinault Beach Resort and Casino.

DAMAGE
Any damage caused during your stay will be charged to you. Smoking of any kind (including vaping) is not allowed inside the chalets. A $250 fee will be applied if a guest smokes indoors.

Please note that this Chalet does not have a microwave.

Nice cabins. Bed comfortable, well kept. It is a bit of a walk to beach l, may be rough if you have kids but wanst too bad. It is nice the trails to left of property takes you to a no car area. Only problems I ran into was sheets were a little dirty and keypad to get in didnt work. Fortunately owner responded quickly which was appreciated. If you have a pick for cabins #1 is not as private, faces another hotel.

The property was great, the stairs are very difficult to go down but with the size of the chalet I can understand why it is the way it is. Parking was right outside our door which was nice when unloading and loading the car. When we first got there, the room was very warm, but after opening both the upstairs and downstairs windows it cooled off pretty quickly. We saw several deer walk by our window which was fun to watch. We had no issue with noise, even though there were people staying in the chalet attached to ours. According to the listing there was candles to accommodate for the fact the fireplace did not work, however there was no candles, not a big deal just would have been nice. I liked having Hulu to watch and that there was free wifi. The dish soap was kind of odd, felt like I couldn't get it off my hands no matter how much I scrubbed them. Bathroom was clean. Towels were provided, along with extra bedsheets if we needed them. The walk to the beach was sort of confusing, as there were several trails going in every direction and finding your way back was difficult. Nothing to do with the chalet, just something to know. There were snacks and tea/coffee provided, but we were unsure if we would get charged for them so we did not take anything. I recommend if they're complimentary, to leave a note or mention it in the listing. People did walk by the windows a few times, but there is black out curtains which helped with privacy. Overall we had a nice time at this location.

The unit was very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed and some quaint surprises. They provided dog dishes,toys and bedding for our pup. Super pet friendly place. The only thing that could have been better, the shower head is super low and lighting in the bathroom was too dim. We’d definitely stay here again!

Very nice

It was great for our dog, nice little area for him to go to bathroom. The bathroom faucet needs to be fixed, just that the water sprays all over, and the stairs are steep, but we had no problem with that. We loved it. Quick walk to the beach, and our dog got to see a deer on the way home from the beach. Wonderful place!

Overall this was a good stay. The checkin process and accessing entry was easy. The couch was comfy and roomy. The unit was stocked with snacks. Could have been cleaned better and needs a proper heating solution but overall good.

This was a very cute chalet, it was clean and provided everything needed for the stay. Communication was great for check in and check out. It was great to be within walking distance of the beach and restaurants/shops. My one complaint was the temperature control. It was freezing cold when I arrived and it took a good 4 hours of blasting all the heaters before it was comfortable. But getting a comfortable temperature on the ground floor meant that the upstairs was really hot. There was also a definite draft around the doors and windows. To be fair, I was there during a wind & rain storm, and I'm sure during normal weather it would be fine, but the fact that I was always too cold or too hot put a dent in the enjoyment of my stay.

We felt the listing was on the edge of deceptive. "Steps to the beach" - it's steps to Colorado if you have enough time. The map makes it look like it's on the beach but it's not, so check the satellite view. "1 Room, sleeps 4" - there's no room, just a loft and an uncomfortable pull-out couch. No privacy. "Pet-friendly" - you can't call yourself pet-friendly if the couch must be covered, and pets are not allowed on the beds AT ALL! The ad does mention the stairs, but my gosh, they're dangerously steep! Because of my age, I couldn't stay in the loft so I got the uncomfortable pull-out couch. The place is fine, clean, the communication was great. We just felt misled.

The stairs were a bit too steep to feel comfortable letting my mother go up and down. But the hide a bed in the couch made it just about perfect. Great place to stay to explore Ocean Shores.

I loved the property! It was spacious, clean and had all the amenities you need. Even some unexpected snacks! The location was perfect. Beach, Stores and Restaurants were all within walking distance. We’ll be back!

Very clean unit

The condo was very clean, which is always a welcome sight! The location was good, for our purposes. I hesitated rating 5 stars, since we didn't received responses in our requests to arrive a little early. Additionally, the listing indicated there was a working fireplace, and even a photo with a lit fire, we assume that would be available, but it was not. However, we went ahead with the higher rating, since these weren't critical items.!

Disappointed

We chose this home due to the location with everything that we wanted to do on our beach stay. The listing was clear on what to expect from the home so we were aware of some things but other things we didn't expect. There was conflicting messages about if there was a microwave or not, but there actually was...if we knew, we would have brought some different food items. The floor of the home is slanted, which made the pull our bed extremely uncomfortable. We had to sleep on the opposite side of the mattress due to the slant. Speaking of the pull out bed, there were no fitted sheets or blankets. There was only 2 flat sheets which did not do the job. The bed upstairs had hair in it, so we questioned the true cleanliness of the home. The drain to the shower was not working and the tub filled quickly which caused all the other drains to struggle. We reached out to the property manager and he was quick to respond but didn't send anyone out to look at it and didn't follow up with me further. I was hoping for a late check out to make up for it but we were only able to get 1 more hour which really wasn't much. The listing was correct about the stairs, which are steep. There could also be a few more curtains to block out the light especially for the top windows because sun pours in early. They did leave treats for the dogs and snacks for us, but the negatives we experienced were significant so keep in mind when booking.

My husband and I loved our stay at this cozy chalet! The place was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and wonderfully cozy. The kitchen was great for meal prep and cooking. Beach access is just short walk away too. We will book another stay soon!

Cute cabin for weekend getaway

Great location! Right in town close to restaurants and short walk or drive to the beach. The cabin had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable. The stairs to the room area are steep but manageable. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back.
