You’ll find our home, Casa Berbigao, on the car-free island of Armona in the Ria Formosa Nature Park. From Olhão, a ferry takes you to the island in about 15 minutes. From the harbor, a stone walking path winds past white summer cottages built in the style of old Portuguese fishermen’s huts… along the way, you’ll find a few shops, restaurants, and small bars. The rest of the island consists of kilometers of fine sandy beaches. You can spend hours here walking, sunbathing, and swimming, or simply enjoying the blissful tranquility.<br>Casa Berbigao is located at the end of the path, close to the main beach (about 100 meters away). <br>If you’ve had enough of the peace and quiet, the mainland is very close by. The trip to Olhão is an experience in itself. You’ll glide across calm waters past and through the nature reserve. You’ll disembark in the city center, home to a bustling fish market, an old town center with a maze of narrow streets, seafood restaurants, and dozens of boats in the marina. <br>Ilha Armona is a breath of fresh air, a place that keeps cars and the hustle and bustle at bay.
