”Spectacular scenery. Our room with balcony was great. We sat there in the evenings with some wine and just enjoyed the landscape. Couple OK restaurants in walking distance and several wine yards close by to visit by car.”

”The hotel had opened about a month ago, so it was very new. The location is good and the view over the Douro valley is nice, the terraces of the hotel and the rooms' balconies make it easy to enjoy it. Chairs on the room balconies would have been nice, though. The rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. ”Amazing place! Great buffet breakfast and also an option to have the breakfast on the barrel terrace. The only minus was that I was travelling with a friend and requested to have two separate blankets. There was an extra in the closet but no cover to it. When calling again to ask for the separate blanket we were broaght 4 extra sheets but still no cover to the extra blanket. (The barrels seem to be more for couples travelling but it would be nice if the hotel would accomodate for others as well...
