There are not many homes for rent on Lake Hatcher. The fishing is great and the views are amazing. It's a quiet neighborhood that's also very close to miles of great hiking either at Coyote Hill or Turkey Springs. If outdoor fun is your passion, this is the perfect home. This home has been a rental for a number of years, but is new to VIP Vacation Services.

This is one of the original lakefront cabins on Lake Hatcher. It's a 2 story, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home. There are views from all sides of the living, dining room and kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked with newer appliances and plenty of room to cook. The lakeside patio is just a few steps from the kitchen where you have a gas grill, gas firepit and picnic table to enjoy your meals or just enjoy the views. There is also a cozy den with a fire stove, comfy couches and TV. There is always a good amount of wood to start your vacation.

On the main floor, you'll also find the queen bedroom with exterior door that shares a full bathroom in the hall. Upstairs are 2 more bedrooms and a full bath. There is a king bedroom that overlooks the lake and has a workspace desk for those who work while travelling. There is also a bedroom with a full and 2 twins, perfect for the kids. Both bedrooms share a recently remodeled full bathroom.

Fishing on this lake requires a permit for all guests. Please let us know in and we'll make arrangements for your permits to be in your home when you arrive so you won't lose a day on the lake. In the winter, let us know if you're interested in ice fishing. We can set you up with all the gear. Fines will be imposed for fishing without a permit.

The area around this home is flat and perfect for bike riding or morning walks.

ALL TRAILERS, RV'S, CAMPERS OR OTHER RECREATION VEHICLES MUST BE APPROVED PRIOR TO ARRIVAL TO BE ALLOWED ON PREMISES.

This is a pet friendly home. Dogs only, 2 max. The pet fee is $75 per pet, as well as an additional $100 refundable security deposit per pet.

Stay was great, but they need to update their listing for towels. We were told to ask for more if needed. So I did and they got back with me and said they would bring some. They never brought more, and there is a sign that says enjoy our beach towels for the hot springs. But, there wasn’t any. I contacted them and they say that they don’t provide them anymore because the sulfur smell never comes out of them! Very minor things. The house was very clean and accommodating in every other way. Very comfortable.

Christmas 2023
Our family & my brother’s family decided to take a trip and make memories instead of buying presents this year. We spent Christmas Day cooking, playing games, and relaxing. Our kiddos ranged from age 9 to 17 and all had a blast. We loved that we were not in town, yet also we were close enough we could be there within a few minutes. Beautiful location
The location is great with beautiful views. But a future house being built will cut down the view. My biggest problem with the house would be that it really has a bad urine smell, probably from the old and pet stain’s carpet. (Really needs replacing). But after airing out the house we never smelled it again. The house it self was clean. The bed was very comfortable. The outside deck is in desperate need of repair and cleaning. If a few updates and repairs were made, this really could be a 4.5 stars. But as it is now I would give it a 3.5 star.

Location is great
The view and location are great. The lake access is a plus. To use the lake there is a permit that cost $20 for the day. The kitchen had all the utensils and pots and pans we needed. The dining room, living room and entertainment room allowed us to socialize or have our space. The exterior could use some weed whacking around the porch. There were a lot of thistles. The bedroom and bathroom on the first floor was great for my parents. The bedrooms and bathroom upstairs were great for the rest of us. We had our dogs with us. The pet fee and deposit are high in my opinion for this place. The dogs liked the neighborhood and the lake. My only complaint was we asked for a late check out 24 hours before our check out time and received notice we could check out late 2 hours before the 10 am check out time. We were already packed and heading out the door by that time.

Nice location but house is old
It was great being able to kayak right off the property. Nice views of mountains. House is older, could use some work. It's functional inside. The windows have been upgraded, but the doors stick. Baseboard heating. The yard hadn't been mowed, and the picnic table on the back deck was starting to split. There is curbside recycling but no bin was provided. TV didn't connect to internet but if you have this problem, contact the managers for help. We just watched videos so it didn't matter to us. Managers were very responsive to texts once you're there. Cell service was not good so we used wifi calling and that worked ok.

Good location. Not the cleanest. I have owned many rentals and I would have made sure cabinets were degreased and the overall property maintained better.

A summer vacation was just what my family needed, and the cabin was the perfect place to call home for the 5 days we were there. Fabulous lakeside location away from busy tourist area
We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of this home. Every amenity we needed was included: gas grill with propane, coffee and filters, fans for white noise, rowboat for lake outings, smart TV for evening movies, board games...this house has it all. Family and friends will be comfortable here-do not hesitate to book! Definitely suggest getting the fishing license- we saw so many fish while standing in the back yard!

Great week!
This is a nice home on the lake. We were not told that the lake was too low to kayak or fish from the property, however the views were gorgeous. We did have a wonderful time hiking along the Piedra River which was fairly close to the property, and getting to town was easy for shopping, restaurants and of course the Hot Springs! Having our dogs with us made it all the better. It is not a 5 star property however as pictures can be deceiving. The hall carpet needed a deep clean, the kitchen cabinets were tricky and coming apart and the dinnerware (plastic) and cooking utensils, flimsy. Also the home needed paint outside and the downstairs bathroom was awkward with old fixtures and dented linoleum. The upstairs was nicely updated though. All in all it was a very fun week here with family but probably would not stay again with this rental property. The downfall was the runaround we had with the property managers who didn't seem to read our correspondences.

Great place!
Overall the place was great. Only a couple of annoyances such as the VRBO stated that there was a fire pit but we didn't find out we could not have a fire until the day before. The fire pit was actually a gas fireplace which we didn't understand why we couldn't use it. Since there was no fire ban in the area because we checked with the county online. Also the listing for the house could be a little bit more. Such as listing there was a blender and we wouldn't have brought our own, there's no air conditioning, there's no cable, only a smart TV, and also the fact that cell service is minimal at best. Like I said...just annoyances.
