The house is a recent construction which makes it appealing. Only had two issues with it, there wasn’t enough storage in the guest room and it’s in-front of a motel where the street is usually busy. Our main problem was with the owner. She constantly bombarded us with messages, and interrupted our stay multiple times. She came one day to replace a broken coffee machine and told us a landscaper would come Wednesday. He came Tuesday instead and stayed 2 hours doing who knows what. The grass area could be cut in 20 min max. Yet he stayed and we had to delay our plans. Then he texted the owner a picture of a hot tub we brought. We didn't think it would be a problem, we haven’t had the issue before and only had the chance to add some water to it. (There were no restrictions for this at the time but she has then updated the policy). The owner then texted us in an irate fashion and said she would “make the calculations” and send us the charge for the water & electric bill. We dumped the water out and didn't even get to use it. This ruined our stay. We felt like our every move was being monitored and lost trust with the owner. Didn't even feel like we had the freedom to shower for 10 minutes at a time without thinking it would be added to the bill. Or wash the dishes for too long. Then there is a policy that the owner can charge you for things 2 weeks after your stay! Seriously, didn’t feel like we could write a review without retaliation. We’ve used Vrbo many times before unfortunately, this was our first negative experience.
