The location of this condo is excellent! Loved that it was a short walk to the beach. Gulf Highlands is a neat property. Everyone is friendly and the amount of pools and other things to do is great! One thing that we didn’t like was that the poolside restaurant was only open Thurs-Sat which means we missed it. There is a restaurant you can walk to from the beach though—Barefoot and they have a cute pool and area for kids. Also none of the pools at Gulf Highlands were heated yet—maintenance told us they don’t turn on the heat until later October. The main pool closest to the beach was freezing but our kids still enjoyed! The condo was clean and had plenty of space for us. The kitchen was also fully stocked. We grilled one night and appreciated having that option! Gulf Highlands is close to several things-Walmart, Wonderworks, Shipwreck Island, restaurants. We loved the Mexican restaurant next door! The screened in back porch was a lifesaver for us having kids since the condo backs up to the canal. We did get to go out and feed the fish and turtles in the canal thanks to our next door neighbor. On our last day, we ended up losing water due to a busted water main. Lisa responded almost immediately and was able to find out what was going on. They got the water back on pretty fast too and it did not affect our stay at all. Overall, we loved staying here and would definitely return!
