”Only thing I liked was AC in the room and the view. You pay so much money for a decent room and doesn't offer breakfast is crazy. 1 elevator working for over 10 story floors not the business. The worst part they charge you for a parking fee a night 45 dollars for valet parking. 15 to park it yourself outrageous. And we have to walk back and fourth in the rain from the parking lot. Housekeeping very stingy with the towels and toilet paper.”

”We liked the room and liked the location - just steps to the Farmer's Market. This is more of a note to Expedia than to the Hilo Downtown Inn. This is the second place we have rented through Expedia that didn't tell us we'd need to negotiate stairs. My wife has trouble navigating stairs. I think the property and Expedia have an ethical and perhaps legal obligation to inform potential renters about the stairs.”

”Great location on the bay. Walking distance to restaurants, and Liliʻuokalani Park. Directly on Hilo Bay. They also have laundry facilities which is a plus. The building is old but clean and comfortable. There’s no wifi in the room and no air conditioning, but that’s okay with us as there’s ceiling fan and also big fans inside the room. The view from our room makes up from the lack if AC and Wifi.”

”Room had stains on the floor, not well cleaned, had false lash extensions on the bathroom counter. Asked for pillows, bath soap ,which was completely empty and towels that never came. Check in had a long wait as only 1 front staff was working at 8pm and managing multiple tasks. Only 1 elevator was working so the stairs was a quicker option. Easy and plenty parking.”

”This place is a great - hosts are amazing people. They are intelligent, passionate, flexible, and friendly. Sunsrise view is great. Incredibly safe environment. You really feel like you have a degree of quiet separation from the bustle of Hilo that is only a short drive away. So best of both worlds. The tradeoff is that the village access does require a short drive on unpaved roads. So prepare mentally that this is a slightly more secluded location. You get a simple but thoughtfully...

”A wonderful guesthouse a few miles outside of town. It had everything we needed and the communication with the owners was great. The only small downside was the combo washer/dryer took 5 hours to do a very small load and we couldn't use it overnight because it was right next to the pullout bed.”
