We were delighted with our stay at Solitude I - we had two couples, and two elderly moms with us, so finding a ranch-style home was important. The house was clean, and the two living room setup was fantastic - some folks would migrate to the TV room, and others would stay in the cosy living room with a book and the fireplace.The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the views were peaceful.For those looking for a place with disability accommodations, the master bathroom has a low-threshold shower; however, the only grab bar is at the back of the shower, making it out of reach when entering or exiting the shower.We will absolutely consider renting this home again - very nice!

Spanish Hideaway

It was a very nice big house, lots of Spanish charm, huge dining table & living room. Family room off kitchen was large for tv time. Master bedroom was very roomy with a tv, large closet & shelves to unpack. The other 3 guest rooms had to share 1 bathroom with double sinks. Think that would be difficult for sharing with 3 bedrooms. All 3 had no tvs or dressers to unpack if you’re staying for a week. There was a powder room off the kitchen. A propane fire pit outside would be a nice touch but the yard needs maintenance. Whoever owned the property previously had grape vines & they weren’t maintained in the front or back.

Great space - needs some maintenance

We’ve stayed at this property previously. The space is fantastic for a larger group. We did notice this time that the property could use some maintenance. Nothing that impacts your enjoyment of the property but there are broken tiles and lots of drywall marks that detract from the overall appearance.

Unbelievably beautiful and quiet

Approaching the home sitting up on an elevated area you see a beautifully big home! The view from the home is simply incredible, the green hills, vineyards and of course the sunset. You are a good ten plus minutes from stores but well worth the drive, enjoying no sound of cars, or neighbors is a plus. The home was extremely big and open! With high ceilings. Big kitchen, living room and tv room gave us a feeling that we could spread out and not be on top of each other. Kitchen had everything we needed, plenty of towels and rooms had plenty of pillows and clean. Nobody complained about any of the beds! We did not get the opportunity to hang out in the front or back patio due rain but on the morning of travel we all said when we come back we would take advantage of spacious area. Definitely coming back and probably for a few more days!!!

Five stars BUT a few improvements needed

The property is huge and has a great view! We did enjoy our time! However, there are a few improvements needed: beds can be more comfortable (can feel the springs in the mattress when laying down); outlets are loose so charging phones are difficult; there are no lighting outside so if you get to the property at night, it is a little difficult.

Enjoyable but Disappointing

Great to be with family. Quiet location with lovely view. Overall maintenance of property not good. Cleanliness below standard. Would not rent again unless major changes made to maintenance and cleanliness. Poorly maintained and no routine check of property if not rented. Sub Zero refrigerator not operating.

Great stay in Paso

My family was here for my daughter's wedding and stayed a few extra days to wine taste. The house was clean and comfortable for our family of 7. I loved waking up and having coffee on the front patio overlooking the valley. Great location for exploring Paso. We'd definitely come back.

Amazing experience

The pictures on line do not do the place Justice. I booked as my son Graduated from Cal Poly Slo this weekend and wanted family to stay in one location. We loved it. Everything worked perfectly and we enjoyed barbecuing as the home was so spacious and welcoming that we wanted to spend as much time as possible on site. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. Thank you… We loved it.

Great Family reunion

Large, Well-Maintained and Beautiful Home

We had 7 people in our party and we were very comfortable. There is a very large dinner table and plenty of room for more people to sit, socialize and watch TV. The kitchen is plenty large and we cooked a couple dinners there using the available cookware. Overall, we would definitely return.

Too expensive.

We rent from VRBO all the time, but this house was not managed by a private owner. Which I didn’t see when booking. The house is Hugh and beautiful but missing many amenities we were use to receiving from a private owner. For the price we paid, we thought we would get nice towels, if these were in my house they would be ready for rags. No tissue anywhere, but they did have empty tissue boxes in bathroom cabinets. The kitchen is huge and could be filled with nice glassware and pots and pans etc. Most people who stay at Paso, out in the vineyards would like wine glasses that match. None of the glasses matched. No mixing bowls, nothing to place food prepared in, so not a good place if you plan to stay in an cook, which we all love to do. No decent spices, lucky to have some salt and pepper. Most places we stay in for this price leave decent coffee, we had to go out and buy most things we needed for the weekend, even ice and wood for the fireplace. The beds and bedding were nice, except all the bedrooms are next to each other, so nice if your a family. Not nice for friends couples, as you could hear between the walls of someone talking, coughing or snoring. No screens on the screen doors, so we had flies in the house all of the time with no fly swatter. The outside, we couldn’t sit out because of the flies, which, I don’t know why they were there, we’ve stayed in plenty of vineyards in the same area, no problems. The sprinkler systems was over watering the yard and too wet to go on or around. House is only being used for rentals and no one really cares about the condition of the house. This is the first time I’ve been disappointed in our stay and we rent all the time. My advice, stay away from houses not used by private owners, as they take pride in your stay and add a lot of nice things to the house, because they have lived in the house and used it, to know what the house needs. We paid more for this house than others, pictures are nice but missing sooooo much needed for the price.
