”A really lovely and relaxing place to spend a few days whilst visiting the game reserves. Very attentive staff, a large and comfy bedroom A lookout deck, pool, hammock and outdoor seating area are all lovely, and would be fabulous in warmer weather. Three course dinner (set menu) was delicious and all home-prepared on site. The dining room is also very nice, and we were seated right by the fire - very welcome in August. The shower did go cold on us twice, but I think in winter it's harder...

”The best stay during my trip. I highly recommend everyone to stay there. The owner trains ppl from townships in his restaurant, which is part of the hotel, to become cooks and service staff. Food was delicious! ”

”Tolle Unterkunft in Mitten der Natur. Ein tolles Restaurant mit wirklich sehr gutem Essen und Personal. Die Zimmer (Zelte) sind sehr süß und bieten alles was man braucht. Man muss aber beachten, dass es kein Hotelzimmer ist, sondern ein Zelt. Es war ein schönes Abenteuer und wir konnten viel Energie tanken. Die geführten Safaris zum Addo Elephant Park waren ebenfalls schön, die Reisedauer beträgt ca. 30 Minuten. Wir empfehlen ein großes Auto für die Anfahrt mit Allradantrieb, da die Strecke sehr...

”We had a wonderful stay at Hitgeheim Country Lodge. The road in is a little rough, but as it is an eco reserve, that is to be expected and part of the experience. The reward is the wildlife along the way, and we were lucky enough to encounter some zebras. We chose a room with a private pool, which was absolutely beautiful and made our stay feel extra special. We loved the port provided and enjoyed a delicious Taste of South Africa dinner in the restaurant. A lovely final touch was having our car...

”From the very first moment and the warm welcome this was an unforgettable experience. The lodges, the setting (even the amazing 28km gravel track to get in!), the staff & the food were first class. Top all of that off with an elephant encounter and you have memories that will last a lifetime! The ladies there arranged a half-day guided safari for us at nearby Addo Game Reserve - thoroughly recommend that too.”

”Truly, a five star experience that went above and beyond expectations because of Ranger John! He is an expert level two ranger; has deep knowledge of the nature and history of the land is completely unparalleled! There are many times where he was able to see animals that no one else could see because of his 40 years of experience in the bush. On one of the game drives, he smelled a carcass, and we went to explore the carcass and subsequently which led us to who hidden lions that were finished...

”Eine Location mit sehr viel Charme, tollem Ranger Clifford, freundlichsten Personal, auch wenn die Eintichtungen etwas „in die Jahre“ gekommen sind. Für die Anfahrt über die letzten 14 km unbefestigte Straße sind sicher 30 min Autofahrt einzuplanen. Diese Straße muss man auch zurück, wenn der Nationalpark besucht wird.”
