The sun just crested over the horizon when I took this photo of the Slater Mill Historic Site in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

This historic mill is said to be the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution. It was modeled after cotton spinning mills first established in England.

Although it was a bitter 22°F outside, a scene like this does make me forget the cold for a few minutes.

”This house was the perfect choice for me and my family. We were attending a wedding at Mount Hope Farm and it was quite literally a minute down the road. The house was warm and inviting and VERY CLEAN. There were plenty of blankets, pillows, and towels. Also, the bed I stayed in was possibly THE MOST COMFORTABLE I’ve ever slept in. ”The place was super comfy, clean, and well decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a nice meal. We were pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful amenities, such as spare toothbrushes (which at least one of us took advantage of, lol), shampoo in the shower, extra towels, and lots of selection from the Keurig (not just coffee, but tea, cocoa, etc.). The location was great as well -- quiet, peaceful, with off-street parking. Couldn't be better!”
