Lorraine is an amazing host. Communication was on point and we truly felt welcome in her beautiful home. The apartment’s location is ideal, just a 3-minute walk to the beach and in proximity of several restaurants. The apartment is nicely furnished and has everything you need to cook and host. It was sparkly clean. There is a lovely garden and parking place for a car. It is located on a quiet road with barely any traffic. We appreciated having AC and room darkening curtains in both bedrooms. For the more noise sensitive, there can be some nighttime barking from the neighbors’ dogs so bring ear plugs.

This is what I’d put for the VRBO review.We stayed at the Birdsong in February 2026. My favourite part of this place was honestly the lush beautiful gardens and patio. We would often read on a lounge chair on the side of the house in the shade and enjoy the cool breeze during the afternoon. The inside of the place was beautifully decorated and well maintained by the owner. There is a lot of natural light and the decor is colourful and comfortable. Enough chairs in the living room to feel at ease and relax at the end of a day spent at the beach just 300 meters away.Lorraine was very responsive with any requests we may have. Also very helpful in arranging reservations for drives, restaurant reservations, etc. She also graciously let us stay a couple of hours longer on our departure date to accommodate us.It’s been a lovely vacation.

The owner met us when we arrived, gave us a tour of our beautiful accommodations and continued to give us helpful advice throughout our stay. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and even arranged for me to visit a local school (i am a retired teacher). The suite was immaculate, well appointed and was an easy walk to the local beach.

Relaxed stay, great host

We can only recommend Lorraine's apartment to everyone. First of all, she is a great host. We had some helpful conversations beforehand and she responded very quickly. She welcomed us, explained everything, gave us recommendations on restaurants, where to go, what to see and so on.The apartment was freshened up before we arrived, so it looks even better than the pictures on the internet.The kitchen is really complete. The only criticism from our point of view: the bathroom is quite small and you can only hang one towel.The neighborhood is quiet. A large supermarket is about 5 minutes away by car. The beach is a maximum 10 minute walk (5 for us). You can also reach more beautiful beaches by car or bus. We felt very comfortable and would have liked to stay much longer. On our next visit to the island we will try to stay with Lorraine again.

Wonderful place on Barbados coast

We had a wonderful stay at Birdsong! Lorraine was a fantastic host! The apartment was perfect for our family, and close to so many things on Barbados west coast. We enjoyed all the plants and flowers that Lorraine tends, and frequent visits from Bean the cat and daily visits from Elvis the hummingbird were welcome. I definitely recommend Birdsong for its cleanliness and proximity to so many things to do.

Wonderful stay!

We had a great time in Barbados. The apartment was our home away from home for 5 nights. Lorraine was very friendly and had great suggestions for local restaurants and activities. My husband had hurt his foot right before we arrived and Lorraine provided an icepack for him to use. We were initially going to be traveling with another couple, which would have been a little tight, but for 2 people it was perfect. As a bonus, her sweet cat Bean visited us daily.

We enjoyed being at Birdsong. We found the sleeping difficult as the one bedroom that had air conditioning had a very hard bed and the other bedroom had no airflow or air-conditioning. The gardens were very lovely and the house was in good condition beyond some windows not opening.

Barbados trip

The property is nice and the host Lorraine was very sweet and helpful when needed. The beach was ok but there were better beaches along the coast. The area is very quite but have good transport connections. There is a bus stop about 250 yds from the apartment opposite the beach that go up and down the coast and very cheap. Regarding apartment it has 2 showers but one is outside which you cannot use if you want to strip. Also the shower inside was only slightly warm at the best. The only other let down was there was no air condition in one bedroom only a fan that did not really help. Overall a nice stay and Lorraine was a great host.

All round amazing!!

From the moment we arrived it felt like a second home. Lorraine was there to welcome us with her vibrant smile and friendly personality. Everything was as we expected it to be in the most lovely setting. Peaceful most definitely, ignoring the millions and millions of frogs that gently whistle you to sleep. Communication with Lorraine was immediate and she was always on hand with advice and friendly chat. Would absolutely come back again!

Amazing property right by amazing beaches

This is an amazing VRBO property right by the beach. I would recommend it to anyone coming to Barbados and not wanting to spend thousands on a hotel. If I ever come back I will be staying here.

Family stay at Birdsong

The property was sparkling as was our host Lorraine. I thoroughly recommend this as a wonderful property in a beautiful and convenient location. The local beach was a short walk and was easy and safe swim in perfect waters. We brought our goggles which was perfect for spotting a large array of fish close to shore. There were a lot of local restaurants, with the pop up Chef Glam our favourite9n Chapel Road. The regular and fast buses made exploring the rest of the island easy. Thankyou to Lorraine for her welcome.

Comfortable and well-appointed

We really enjoyed our stay at Birdsong. Our ground-floor apartment was comfortable and spotless, with tasteful decor throughout. The property is fully enclosed, with a spacious front courtyard, table and chairs. The beautiful beach at Paynes Bay is a short walk away. We hope to visit again!

Location and good value for your money

So my husband and I stayed several weeks at Birdsong and after getting settled in, we were just fine staying there. It is in a residential area and sitting outside on the hill late afternoons was very pleasant as there was usually a breeze when it could be much warmer down the hill. The beach is about a 5 minute walk and when the tide is out you can walk all the way to Sandy Lane. Beware if the tide is high because one little bridge may be an issue. There is a wonderful little seafood market just down the hill on the main road to the right. We had many wonderful meals of fresh fish. Cash only. Also, just 10 to 15 minute you have "The Roti Den" for outstanding rotis (the best in our 50 day stay in Barbados) and great curries. De Clay Oven and Karibu are also very good. We had a lovely meal at Positano - get a reservation for a seaview table. You can walk into Holetown or take the bus. Jordans market about 25 minutes walk the other way. there is no hot water in the kitchen however there is a water kettle and you would have to use another bowl because only sided sink. The internet works great and we could use our laptop to watch tv shows. Fun to look for monkies, watch hummingbirds and larakeets. Lorraine was a delight to chat with and was a very nice host.

Beautiful, tropical apartment on the West coast

My husband and I spent 8 nights in the beautiful Bird Song apartment. It has a nice tropical decor and everything was spotless clean and exactly as in the pictures. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare breakfast, occasional lunch and dinner. The two bedrooms have a big closet and make-up tables. One of them has aircondition, which you don‘t really need if you leave the windows open and let the breeze get in. The area is very quiet and we always felt safe. You can walk to the local beach (3min walk) and some restaurants. We had a rental car, what we highly recommend to explore the island and to go to different beaches. We could park our car on the fenced property. Around the house is a small beautiful tropical garden with lots of flowers and palmtrees. Lorraine is a wonderful host and lives upstairs. She was always available when we had questions or needed something. We had nice talks sitting together in the front yard. Considering the accomodation prices on Barbados, this apartment offers excellent value for money. We highly recommend this apartment and would stay again any time.😎🏖

The garden was a beautiful place to relax with morning coffee, afternoon drinks or dinner. The large kitchen was very clean and well equipped. It was an easy walk to the beach and local restaurants.
