Firstly, upon arrival, there were no staff present to complete our check-in. We were left waiting to be addressed for 10 mins. In addition, we noticed a sign stating that there would be construction between 9am-5pm; it stated that the construction had no relation to Makara Villas. We came to find, it was in fact, the villa across from ours in the complex. This was unbeknownst to us as there was no mention of construction prior to making our booking. Next, we were guided to our Villa by Putra. Firstly, a staff member was laying on the lounge, on his phone. The cleaning was inadequate incl staining on the bed, bed base & sheets. To our disgust, there appeared to be blood stains on the headboard in addition to dirty footprints, loose hair & stains on the couch. A foul odour throughout the property due to an incredible amount of dead bugs and mould falling from the airconditioning unit onto the floor. This does not meet health and safety standards. As a result, we felt no other choice than to check-out & source alternative accomodation. Once home, We contacted Expedia attempting to rectify the matter, we had requested a full refund. Unfortunately, however, both Makara Villas and Putra the Manager, have failed to respond to any form of communication to resolve the issue. Putra claimed to have offered us an alternative room, this simply did not occur as no other villas were avail at the time. Overall, our time at Makara Villa was a waste of travel & money. Do not recommend staying.
